If you have an outdoor space where you live, lucky you! Many people choose their home specifically for its garden space; gardens are a place of fun, relaxation and calm. Redecorating your home is a fun experience which can transform your space and create an indoor paradise for you and your family. Your garden, however, might have travelled to the last place on the list for renovation. Don’t underestimate the power of transforming your garden space, though! Your garden is there to enjoy and relax in, but are you making the most of it?

Here are three ways you can transform your outdoor space into a little slice of heaven.
Growing A Vegetable Garden
Don’t scroll past! This is far easier and more cost effective than you might think. You may imagine that growing a vegetable garden requires expert knowledge and acres of land. It doesn’t. With the help of YouTube, helpful books and a little common sense, you can grow fresh veggies in no time. All you need is some good quality soil, some large pots or beds, seeds, and the right season.
Growing your own food is amazingly therapeutic. Not only will you be able to eat food that has basically no carbon footprint, no pesticides and no chemicals, you can spend a peaceful few hours digging around, watering, and helping nature come to life.
A Garden Room
If your garden is big enough, you should look into a garden room. This is kind of like an upgraded shed; you can use a garden room as a home office, a gym, a play area for the kids or even a spare bedroom! Either converting your shed or building a brand new garden room for your outdoor space will not only expand your living space, it will add value to your home, as an extra dimension of livability and fun will be added to the place.

A Wildlife Paradise
Have you ever wanted to find wildlife right on your doorstep? Do you love observing nature in its natural habitat and are interested in protecting it? You can make your garden into a wildlife paradise.
Depending on where in the world you live, you will be able to attract different species to your outdoor space. If you are able to install a small pond or water feature, you’ll soon find that frogs, birds, and other species which need water in order to thrive, will settle in your garden! You can observe them from a distance and help them thrive.
If you love watching birds, you could even install an owl box in your outdoor space. These are simply designed wooden boxes which provide a perfect home for an owl to nest and lay its eggs. This can take a few years to attract any owls – but when it does, you can observe these elusive creatures from your window. How cool is that?

I definitely want to start a vegetable garden next year! I think our kids would enjoy it, and it obviously has the rewards of getting to eat something you grew yourself. Thanks for the ideas!
Thanks for reading. Yes that would be lovely!
Great tips 🙂
Thanks.
Wonderful! It is my dream to own a home with a (sufficiently) spacious outdoor space. I am wavering between the garden room and the wildlife Paradise. Can I incorporate the two?
Yes definitely. Our garden is huge and it’s honestly too much for us, I do often wish we had a slightly smaller garden.
Lovely post! We’re in the process of starting our own garden in our backyard 😀 🤍
Amazing! If anything I wish our garden was a bit smaller, there’s so much I won’t to do with it but there’s too much space!
Vegetable garden: Absolutely! Never thought of attracting wildlife to one’s garden.
We get quite a lot of wildlife in our garden but I’m definitely going to look at making it even more wildlife friendly.
A wildlife paradise sounds awesome! Currently I live in a small flat with my parents so we don’t have any outdoor space at all, but when I do get a house of my own with my boyfriend in the future I really hope we can have a lot of wildlife in our garden or yard 😊

That would be lovely! We’re fortunate enough to have quite a large garden and it does get a lot of wildlife in it.
