After featuring some of the Christmas collection scents from EMB back in December I thought some of you would be interested to see the Valentine’s collection. These reviews are pretty much what I said on Instagram but I’m aware that many people who come across my blog don’t follow me on there. Porn Star Martini
A fresh blend of passion fruit and lime with vanilla and a hit of champagne.
Although I don’t usually go for fruity scents (I prefer homely warming scents or something clean and relaxing) I was excited for this one, who doesn’t love cocktails. The colours in this are amazing and that purple glitter is great! Unfortunately this scent just wasn’t for me, it was just too fruity for my liking. But I know this would be perfect for people who prefer this type of scent!
Afternoon Tea
Scones, clotted cream and sweet raspberry jam.
This was probably the cutest sample I’ve received, those little hearts and stars that appear after melting are perfect for Valentine’s Day. This was a super sweet smell that reminded me so much of Drumstick Lollies, not that that’s a bad thing. I really enjoyed this one and it definitely seemed the most Valentine’s appropriate one from the collection.
Silver Mountain
Aftershave inspired with bergamot, mandarin, neroli, green tea and a base of musk and sandalwood.
Another fun and pretty one, check out the detail when this burns! This wasn’t what I was expecting from an aftershave inspired scent at all. I love musk and sandalwood scents but unfortunately I just didn’t pick up on this, it was quite sweet smell and whilst I did like it, I would have preferred it to smell a bit more musky and manly. Not at all a bad one, just not what I was expecting! I have been informed that the aftershave it’s based on is not what you’d expect from an aftershave either.
Zen Moment
Aloe, lemon and cucumber on top of lily and jasmine.
I love everything about this one, from the colour and glitter to the amazing scent. If my whole house could smell like this permanently I’d love it. It’s such a fresh and calming scent that’s meant to remind you of the spa. This is a great choice for a scent in a bathroom when you’re having a super relaxing bath or for when you’re having a chilled day indulging in some self care. This is definitely my favourite scent from the collection.
