With less than 10 days to go until Christmas I figured it was about time we had a look at some of my favourite things about the festive season, from which Christmas song I think is the best to which Christmas foods I can’t live without!
Food
Without a doubt my favourite food at Christmas is bubble and squeak. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s all the leftovers from Christmas dinner mashed together than fried. Sounds gross but tastes absolutely delicious, not only is it a great way to cut down on food waste but I actually think I prefer it to the full Christmas dinner! Call me crazy but if you’ve never tried it, I highly recommend giving it a go this Christmas.
Film
This is a tricky one for me as I absolutely love Christmas films and could quite easily pick more than one as my favourite film. However if I was really being pushed to choose I’d say The Muppet Christmas Carol. It’s one of my favourite stories anyway so the Disney version with Jim Carey would be very close behind but I love the songs in the Muppet version!
Song
This ones an easy one for me as it’s a song that’s always been my favourite Christmas song ever since I can remember. Paul McCartney’s Wonderful Christmastime takes the number one spot for me here. If you didn’t already know then I’m a huge Paul McCartney fan anyway so I’ve actually being lucky enough to see the song played live twice but before I even knew who he was I loved this song.
Day
Another easy one for me as I actually prefer the run up to Christmas to Christmas Day so my favourite day of the festive season is Christmas Eve. We have a few traditions we like to stick to on Christmas Eve. For me Christmas hasn’t lost its magic and I love nothing more than that warm, fuzzy feeling on Christmas Eve when I’m sat in my Christmas pjs watching films.
Outfit
This definitely has to be pjs! I love Christmas pjs and the festive season was just made for spending days lounging around. I do have a beautiful dress that I tend to wear on Christmas Day though that’s also my favourite for something nicer than pjs!
Drink
My favourite drink at Christmas is Baileys, what is it about Christmas and Baileys that just works?! From a nice glass over ice to a splash of it in a hot chocolate I can’t get enough of it. I always save my first drink of Baileys until 1st December and that’s when I know the countdown to Christmas has begun! What are your Christmas favourites? Let me know in the comments.
