5 amazing virtual date ideas you need to do

There’s a whole host of reasons why you might want to go on a virtual date. Last month I talked about the benefits of virtually dating when physical dates were off the card thanks to the lockdown. Now a global pandemic is a pretty big reason for not being able to physically date but what about all the other times you might not be able to get out on a date? Here a five amazing virtual date ideas to consider for your next date night.

virtual date night ideas

If you’re a singleton during this lockdown, virtual dating can be a great icebreaker for anyone new that you meet. It’s a great way to have fun and enjoy someone else’s company. If you’re still trying to find love at this time a lot of local dating sites like Devon dating site allow you to chat to people online. A virtual date is a great way to take it up a notch though and by sticking to local sites such as the Devon dating site and other regional dating sites you’ll be able to easily meet up for a physical date once it’s safe to do so!

Now as I’ve mentioned a global pandemic is not a scenario anyone saw coming but there are plenty of other more normal reasons why you can’t go out on physical dates such as dipping your toes back into the dating world, in this case virtual dates can be a real confidence builder and good practice for the real thing. Or maybe you’re in a long distance relationship and virtual dates are a good way to make sure you’re still having fun together. So lets dive in to the perfect virtual date ideas.

Go to a pub quiz

The lockdown means an abundance of virtual quizzes have sprung up and luckily a lot of them take place on YouTube meaning they can be accessed any time. From general knowledge, to Disney, Harry Potter and everything in between you’ll find a quiz out there about it. So grab some drinks and snacks (crisps and nuts if you want the full pub quiz experience) and get competitive.

Grab a takeaway and a movie

Order your favourite takeaway or even better order one for each other. With an abundance of online delivery services it’s easy to do. Then pick a film to watch together. Disney+ has come out in the U.K. at just the right time and of course there’s always Netflix. Take it in turns to pick or movie or create a list and randomly select one. It’s a great way to discover new movies or have a laugh at a terrible film!

Send a care package

Make each other care packages and drop them on the doorstep if you live close to each other or post them. Include things like their favourite snacks, drinks, a movie, a letter, a gift card for your favourite restaurant as something to look forward to when this ends. Basically anything you know will cheer them up. It’s a really simple but personal way of showing them you’re thinking about them.

Visit a museum

Obviously physical museum visits are off the cards at the moment. But if you’re a couple that’s into days out like this then did you know that many museums offer virtual tours now? Big museums such as the Natural History Museum and the British Museum offer tours. The Louvre, Smithsonian and NASA’s Langley research centre are all offering virtual tours too. If museums aren’t quite your thing then there are lots of zoos and aquariums also offering virtual tours and Disney World have been uploading lots of virtual rides and firework displays to Instagram TV.

Tackle the challenges of an escape room

For something a little bit different why not give an escape room a go? Escape rooms have become super popular and now they’ve gone virtual! Most of these have to be paid for but they’re relatively cheap and many of the experiences last over a few days so you’re definitely getting your moneys worth. Team up and see if you can crack a virtual escape room!

Virtual dating doesn’t have to be boring. With these virtual date ideas there are lots of different things you can try. It’s no replacement for seeing your partner and having a date in real life but it’s certainly better than nothing.

This is such a nice list! I thankfully don’t have to do virtual dating at the moment, but these would have been nice to do when my husband and I lived in two different states for a few months! Grabbing takeaway and a movie seems like something we would definitely have enjoyed.
