AD – This is a paid advertorial but all thoughts are my own
The U.K and many other European countries are still on lockdown due to the Coronaviurs pandemic. As if it wasn’t bad enough having to stay inside all the time you might think the lockdown spells disaster for your love life. Wrong! Just because you can’t actually go out and meet people doesn’t mean to stay you can’t have some dating fun to bring some happiness to this difficult time.

Whether you’re single and feeling the affects of tackling the lockdown on your own or maybe you’d just got into a new relationship before the lockdown kept you apart, I have dating ideas to bring a little positivity to all of this for everyone!
Being single on lockdown
Being single during the lockdown doesn’t have to be hard or lonely. There’s nothing wrong with using this time to find new people to talk to, none of us have anything to do right now so the chances of building a more meaningful connection are better than ever. Sure you can’t go out and meet any of your matches right now but there’s nothing to stop you from killing time by chatting to some people and who know when all this is over you might have a few awesome dates to look forwards to as well! Chances we’re going to be stuck in this new reality for some time and travel restrictions may apply for a while so to avoid disappoint you’re best off sticking to local dating sites so if you have any potential matches you’ll be able to meet up easier when the tighter lockdown restrictions are eased. Sites like Cardiff dating or other local sites are a good place to start.
Being single on lockdown can be particularly hard for older people but there’s nothing to stop you from putting yourself out there as well. I mean if you’d class yourself as a maturer person then you’ve really nothing to lose at this moment in time by getting acquinted with the world of online dating. It’s not like you have to meet up with anyone because you can’t so you might as well have some fun with over 60’s dating in Cardiff or other local sites. Just having people to chat to will make all the difference to how you feel.
Dating virtually
If you’d got into a new relationship just before the lockdown you’re probably looking for a way to stay connected to your new found love. Or maybe you’re single but you’ve made a good connection with with someone on a dating sight and want to try out a virtual date. Well the good news is that thankfully it’s pretty easy to have a virtual date now. Here are some of the best ways to virtually date during the lockdown:
Virtual date ideas
Skype and FaceTime have made it so you can still see each other daily and within these calls you could participate in a quiz (lots of places are now holding virtual pub quizzes), or even enjoy a takeaway together. Deliveroo, UberEats and Just Eat are all still operational so why not order each other your favourite takeaway and enjoy it together. You could even make up a care package to post or leave on the doorstep if you live close together. Remember as long as you don’t go into the house or meet up if you live apart it’s perfectly OK to post a gift or leave it on the doorstep. Just a few tokens to show that you’re thinking about each other and to help each other get through this time. You could include their favourite drink, their favourite snack and something to cheer them up. Finally thanks to sites like Netflix party you can also have a movie night together now. It synchronises video playback and adds a group chat so you can still enjoy your favourite shows together.
