May finally brought some much needed sunshine with it which I was very thankful for. I’m an autumn girl at heart but there definitely reaches a point in the year where I’m desperate for some warmth and sunshine. May was a bit more of a quiet month compared to April but that was completely fine by me and we’re off on our first holiday abroad in five years at the start of June. Let’s take a little look at what happened in May.

As I said May was all about work and holiday prep but it’s still been a nice month. When the sun’s shining and you have a holiday to look forwards to, life always feels good!
1. We got one step closer to finishing our porch makeover this month as our shoe cabinet arrived (after months of being on order!) and all the little decorations came for on top of it. It’s made a huge difference to the tidiness of our porch. The only thing that’s left to do now is paint the front door and get all new door furniture and the porch makeover will be done!
2. We bought a PS5 this month as our PS4 was getting a little old, it gets used every day so it was definitely time for an upgrade. With that though we got the Hogwarts Legacy game and I’m totally addicted to it! It’s such a fantastic game. I wasn’t sure how much I’d enjoy it but I can’t stop playing it.
3. As I mentioned, we finally saw some warm weather this month which meant trips to the beer garden and sitting outside reading. Two of my favourite summer activities. I felt like we were never going to get any warm weather so it’s been lovely to wake up to blue skies and sunshine a little more. It makes such a difference to your mood doesn’t it?
4. I decided to give Pilates a go this month. After months and months of HIIT workouts and kettlebell workouts my fitness routine dropped off completely earlier this year and those kinds of workouts just weren’t something I had an interest in returning to right now. I found Bailey Brown on TikTok and decided to give her free 28 day Pilates challenge a go and I am absolutely loving it. I feel like I want to exercise again and I think this is just the sort of thing I was looking for. A little slower and more intentional but still feels like a great workout.
5. Other small but happy moments from the month included making Buddy a tin foil crown for the coronation, ordering a Percy Pig frappe, getting some beautiful roses from my husband and finding a cute dog at the garden centre.
So that was May. A quiet but happy month. We’re off on holiday at the start of June and I’m ridiculously excited. As I mentioned, it’s our first holiday abroad in five years but it’s also our first beach holiday in thirteen years which is crazy! I’m totally ready for a week of relaxing, cocktails and good food.
I hope you all had a lovely May. Let me know what you got up to in the comments.

Oh my god I’m exactly the same, I’m not a huge Summer person but there comes a point where I just need some warmth! The weather has been really lovely recently. I also find I’m the same in regards to the workouts. I go through phases with HIIT workouts. I don’t enjoy them but I’ll do them but sometimes I just don’t want to so now I’m all about long walks and lots of Yoga! Looks like May was a good month for you, here’s to June!
I would love to start Pilates again, I will definitely have a look For Bailey Brown on TikTok! x
