Well I blinked and that’s another month gone! I don’t think my six weeks holiday from work has ever been over as quick as this one. I have mixed feelings about heading back to work but that’s not for this post! August was such a good month I’m kind of sad it’s over.

The weather was glorious, we managed to have a break away and we celebrated what should have been our wedding day before reaching the one year countdown (again) for our new wedding date. Here’s how August went.
1. It’s only right to start off with talking about our wedding, after all that’s how August started. We were supposed to be getting married on 1st August but earlier in the year we chose to postpone. We still celebrated though and we ended up having a really nice couple of days. We went out for lunch the day before then on the day I cracked out my Disney veil and my Disney bride to be t-shirt and we drank Asti and threw confetti. Of course I was sad that I didn’t get my original wedding day but now I can look forward to our new date next year. Later in the month we also hit the one year countdown to the wedding, again. Let’s see how we go the second time around!
2. Speaking of weddings, we head a bit of a wedding car disaster this month. I won’t go into it but we’ve ended up having to book a new wedding car. I’m actually super happy with it and I love it even more than the old car we had booked. We’ve gone for Herbie! I don’t think it could be any more perfect for our wedding!
3. In August I decided to get back on it with my wedding blog. It often gets forgotten about because I dedicate so much time to this blog and for a little while I didn’t really want to talk about weddings. But it’s back now and I’ve started featuring real wedding events on there which I am absolutely loving working on. I always intended for my wedding blog to be about more than just my own wedding and this is bringing it one step closer to that dream!
4. You just know I’m going to have to mention the weather right, I’m British after all! I know a lot of people weren’t a fan of the heatwave we had in August but it really allowed me to take some time out. I love working on my blog but it isn’t my job and I had to remind myself that I was on holiday from my actual job. I took some time out to do nothing but sit in the garden and read and it was great. It was really nice to spend evenings out in the garden too once my fiance had finished work.
5. We had a break away in Liverpool this month and it was just perfect. It’s our favourite place in the U.K. and it was so nice to just get away, have fun and feel a bit more normal. We always love our breaks in Liverpool but we made sure we packed loads in and just enjoyed some time together.
6. My wax melt addiction came back in full swing in August. Despite already having a draw full of wax melts I discovered some absolutely amazing melt companies this month and just had to order. Look at my box from Curiuex isn’t it amazing?! Stormtroopers, voodoo dolls and Elmo. What more could you want?!
Wow what a month August was, I really am sad that it’s over and that I have to head back to work. However there is a major plus. We are now getting into my absolute favourite favourite time of the year and I am super excited for autumn! Bring on the last 4 months of the year.
How was August for you? Tell me in the comments!

Definitely busy! Yes this year is going so fast!
I sometimes feel like we are the same person, postponed wedding, our love of Liverpool, similar jobs and an obvious Disney love!
