Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Review

If you’re a fellow blonde you’ll know the importance of finding a good purple shampoo and looking after your delicate blonde tresses. I have very long hair and blonde balayage which is just a recipe for damage. Keeping my hair strong and my blonde looking super fresh and not brassy is really important. Luckily I’ve found an absolutely amazing range for blonde hair. Step forward the Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Violet Toning shampoo, the Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Violet Toning conditioner and the Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Tri-Blo spray.

Fudge clean blonde damage rewind range

Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Violet Toning shampoo

I’ve used many purple shampoos before but when I had my last lot of balayage done I went light then I’ve gone before and my hairdresser recommended finding a good purple shampoo. I came straight home from the hairdressers and started doing a little bit of research and settled on the Fudge Clean Blonde range to try out.

The shampoo promises to instantly remove yellow tones and repair your hair with Opti-PLEX technology. This product is a combination of the original Clean Blonde shampoo and the Damage Rewind shampoo to create the ultimate nourishing shampoo for blondes.

How to use the shampoo

Simply lather up like you would any normal shampoo but make sure to cover all your hair especially if you have balayage. I like to massage it in then pile my hair on top of my head to make sure it’s all coated in the shampoo. I then pat it down to make sure it stay in place and leave it for a couple of minutes to work its toning magic. Fudge recommend using the shampoo once a week or once every 4-5 washes.

To begin with I used to twice a week to really tone my hair. I then dropped down to once a week to maintain it but when any brassiness creeps back in I’ll go back up to twice a week. It’s all about monitoring what your hair looks like because if it’s used too often it can cause slightly grey tones. Having balayage hair means my hair has multiple shades of blonde in it and I like to make sure the lightest bits are quite icy!

Does it work?

In one word, yes! This shampoo is amazing. It’s easily the best purple shampoo I’ve ever used. No more yellow, brassy hair here! As I’ve mentioned I have some really light blonde parts and it’s toned them to a beautiful icy shade. It is a really powerful toning shampoo though so I would closely monitor your hair each time you use to settle on how often you should use it on your own hair.

Another thing to note is I find it stains my hands, especially around my nails. It’s nothing a bit of hand washing doesn’t remove bit it is something to be aware of. Oh and one last thing, it smells incredible, Fudge say they use FragranceFuse technology and I am happy to report the fragrance is amazing, not too overpowering but it does linger long after my hair is dry.

Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Violet Toning conditioner

If you’re using a purple shampoo it makes sense to use a purple conditioner too especially if your blonde colour is concentrated on the mid-length to the ends of your hair. Much like the shampoo, the conditioner is packed with neutralising violet pigments and proteins as well as the Opti-PLEX technology. It’s quite a thick shampoo which is something I really like but it doesn’t weigh your hair down or make it greasy. I have a lot of hair but it’s very fine so finding a good, nourishing and thick conditioner that leaves my hair feeling light is a must.

How to use the conditioner

I squeeze any excess water out of my hair my hand then get a towel and gently squeeze it through my hair to get rid of any water that would overly dilute the conditioner (this is a great tip for any conditioner by the way as too much water stops conditioners from working as well). I then work a decent amount of conditioner through the length of my hair to the ends and leave it for a few minutes before rinsing.

Does it work?

Again yes! While I think the shampoo does the bulk of the toning the conditioner is a nice added extra that keeps my hair really soft and again it smells amazing.

Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Tri-Blo

This little bottle of blow dry spray certainly comes with a long list of things it does:

  • It protects hair from heat damage up to 230C
  • Contains pro vitamin B5 to improve cuticle health and leave hair smoother
  • MiruStyle™ X-HV – hair protected with this product benefits from significantly easier combing and better retention of hair strength.
  • Professional strength violet micro-pigments instantly tone hair

How to use the spray

Apply a liberal amount to towel dried hair before blow drying. Fudge recommend using this inbetween using the violet shampoo. I leave my hair to air dry most of the time but on the occassions I do blow dry my hair this stuff is great! It’s good to know it’s protecting my hair, making it softer and smoother and combating the yellow tones too.

Does it work?

Yes, this is another product that works amazingly well. The smell of this one is much stronger then the shampoo and conditioner and I cannot get enough of it. I only tend to blow dry my hair if I’m going out for a date night etc as the rest of the time I leave it to try naturally but the spray really does a fantastic job of adding a bit of extra shine and softness to my hair.

Have you ever tried this range from Fudge or do you have any other products you swear by for blonde hair? Let me know in the comments.

This sounds great! I’m brunette but get highlights, I remember the first time I had it done I just carried on using my normal shampoo and conditioner… it was a disaster!

This sounds like a great product. I remember how much I needed something to address the damage to my hair when it was blonde last. If I decide to go blonde again sometime in the future, I’ll have to check this out.
