Happy List: July 2020

30 July 2020 Comments : 32

Can we please slow down time a little, it’s almost August. Crazy! I mentioned in June that the cycle of just going to work and coming home was wearing very thin. Well luckily July fixed that! I mean I am now off work for 6 weeks which certainly helps. However we finally managed to start having adventures again and it feels so good!

Oh did I mention July was my birthday month too? Yep two days ago I turned 29 which is bloody terrifying. How did I suddenly end up in the last year of my twenties?! I also spent a lot of July thinking about how close we should have been to our wedding on 1st August. I think once that date has passed I’ll be able to truly look forward to our new date though. Here’s how July went

1. I finally got my hair fixed! I mean I imagine that will be a July highlight for many people. I started the process of lightening my hair with blonde balayage last December but because of the lockdown I wasn’t able to make my other appointments. Well my hairdresser is a true miracle worker because I bloody love my hair now and it’s so blonde!

2. I’ve already mentioned this but I finished work for 6 weeks this month! I worked throughout lockdown so it feels great to have a proper break. I’m certainly going to using this time to to get some rest but I’ll also be working on my blog so that hopefully when I return to work in September some of the pressure from my blog will be off.

3. We booked a last minute trip to York overnight on the weekend I finished work and it was just the best possible start to my time off. It was also very much needed. I can’t tell you how good it was to get a bit of normality back and just relax. Josh and I also ended up with matching Disney jumpers while we were away. I am very excited about this but he isn’t haha!

4. Speaking of trips away. We’ve gone and booked another one for mid August. This time to Liverpool. I mean it’s not really a surprise that we’ve chosen to go there because we visit every year but we really love it. We were actually supposed to spend part of our mini moon in Liverpool but had to move it when we postponed the wedding so this definitely makes up for it.

5. In July I decided enough was enough and that I needed to lose some weight. I’m very short so extra weight is super noticable on me and thanks to all the lockdown snacks a lot of my clothes were feeling tight. I’ve lost 7lbs so far and ideally I’d like to lose another 9lbs. I’m going slow and steady and thanks to my birthday there’s still been plenty of treats but I’m feeling much happier already.

6. I’ve mentioned Josh’s art on here before because I think he’s just crazy talented but in July he began selling his Ursula print and I think it looks absolutely amazing. They’re only ยฃ6 so if you’d like to head over to his Etsy store and buy one it’d be really great!

7. And finally on to my birthday. We headed out for food and cocktails and I just had a really lovely evening. The day was pretty chilled out as Josh was working anyway but I got some lovely presents and really enjoyed the day.

OK July was a really good month packed with lots of great stuff. August is shaping up to be the same too so I can’t wait.

How was July for you? Let me know in the comments!

It’s lovely to hear that you guys are being able to make some wonderful memories in this weird year! ๐Ÿ˜Š

July was okay for us. Still feels very much the same as every other month though as we haven’t done anything even remotely exciting… but hey, there’s still time!

Hope you enjoy your much needed break! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Happy Belated Birthday! I’m glad that you were able to have a nice day celebrating. Honestly, as I get older I find that those more laid-back and relaxed celebrations are the ones I often enjoy more. I can’t be bothered to deal with big crowds, etc. in most situations (exceptions made for things like concerts lol).
I am loving the blonde hair on you! It totally suits you. Your hairdresser did a great job.

Thanks for letting us in on what made your life happy in July! I believe it’s very important to celebrate our joys, even thought they’re small. Last month, I celebrated making my first $300 with my blog and I taught my 3-year old chocolate lab a new trick!
