I know it will probably be a long time before the world returns to anything like we were used to but I think as time has gone on, more of us have started to think about what we’d like to do once restrictions aren’t as tough. So here are my plans for when the world returns to normal.

I’ll be honest and say I haven’t hated the lockdown at all. It’s given me a lot of time to do the things I want and given me a lot of food for thought regarding the future. I actually found a lot of positives to the lockdown and the slower pace of life teamed with a fantastic work life balance was definitely right up there at the top. So much so that I’m a little worried for life returning to normal! But with all that being said, I am desperate to go beyond our tiny village.
Get married
So you may have seen in my latest Happy List that in May we made the decision to postpone our wedding. We were supposed to be getting married on the 1st August this year but with all the uncertainty we made the decision to postpone before that decision was taken out of our hands. While I’m sad that the wedding isn’t going ahead this year I am grateful that we’ll get to have a chance of having the wedding we really want next year. Plus how good does our new wedding date look wrote down – 21.08.21?! We plan on doing something to celebrate our original wedding date this year but we haven’t decided on exactly what just yet.
Have a date night
When restaurants open back up, I am desperate to go on a date night. Don’t get me wrong at home dates are great and I’m a huge fan of them but I can’t wait to get dressed up and head out for food and drinks. My fiance and I know exactly where we want to go and as soon as it’s safe to do so we’ll be heading out for a mountain of Indian food and several cocktails.
Have a night or two away
Luckily we didn’t have a big honeymoon booked as it had always been our plan to go on our honeymoon quite some time after the wedding. We did have a mini moon planned though which luckily has also been moved to next year. We’re hoping that we might just get a night or two in our favourite city, Liverpool at the end of the year though. In December we’ll be celebrating 13 years together so it would be a nice celebration for reaching the teens in our relationship!
Find a schedule that works
Whilst I have still physically been in work on a rota and working from home, having extra time to work on my blog has been a dream. April and May were my best blogging months I’ve ever had in terms of views, engagement and money I’ve made. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that those are the two full months I’ve had working on a rota. I’m back in work full time now and I don’t want to let all the time and effort I’ve put into my blog slip so I really need to find a good balance between working, blogging and actually having downtime.
Get into exercising
I’m not even going to pretend that I’ve been one of those people that’s got into exercising during lockdown because I certainly haven’t I tried and the start I really did but the lack of routine just doesn’t work for me. I’m far more motivated to exercise after work as I can come straight home, get changed and go out for a run. I have fully indulged during lockdown and whilst I don’t regret it one single bit I know it’s not a healthy lifestyle to continue over a long period of time so I’m hoping now my work routine is back that I can get back into exercising.
Book Disneyland Paris
Before all of this my fiance and I discussed heading to Disneyland Paris at the end of the year. We’re huge fans of Walt Disney World in Orlando but we’ve never been to Disneyland Paris. I don’t think our trip will be at the end of this year now but I am hoping we can get a trip booked at least.
What are your plans for when the world is a bit more normal? Let me know in the comments.

These are great! Disney Paris sounds like a dream, I hope you both get to go 😁. I am really looking forward to hanging out with my friends I miss them so much! Lol
Thank you! Fingers crossed it won’t be too long until we can do things like that.
These are all great plans! I hope you have a lovely wedding and mini moon when it gets round to it! I’m definitely looking forward to going away once I can – Disneyland Paris is a great shout!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing your plans for once everthing is back to normal, hope that you get to go to Disneyland Paris 🙂

Thanks!
I love this! It’s so interesting seeing what other people want to do once we have a little bit of normal. Disneyland is also on my list when this is all over x
Thank you! I think we could all do with a bit of Disney magic when this is all over.
Booking Disneyland sounds like an incredible thing to do. I really want to book a date night too, it feels like it’s been so long since we’ve been able to have them. Thanks for sharing x
I know, I miss date nights so much.
I want to go back to the gym and get my exercise routine back on track. I also want to book a flight and take a trip somewhere. I had travel plans this year but they all got postponed due to COVID-19. 🙁
I hope you manage to get something booked!
I would like to go to the beach, have a full body massage, go for night out with my friends. It’s been too long
They all sound like lovely ideas.
I plan on having a date night, spending hours at coffee shops, & going back to work! Love your post! Totally relate! I used this time to finally start my blog which has been so exciting!
Thank you. They all sound like great plans.
Awh I’m so sorry that you had to postpone your wedding! But at least next year you wouldn’t have to worry about the pandemic and can make the most of your day. I too look forward to booking a holiday after all of this blows over!
Thank you, I’m just grateful I can start to look forwards to my wedding again.
Yes to all of these! We had to postpone our wedding too, it was meant to be the weekend before yours, so I’ve booked us our favourite Air B n B for the weekend it was meant to be in Scarborough, where it was meant to be. Also hoping to see my parents down in Cornwall. Aside from that, I’m going to miss this time a lot.
That sounds lovely. I’m sorry you’ve had to postpone too.
13 years together – wow! I hope everything goes smoothly with your wedding plans and Disneyland Paris when this is all over 🙂
I know, it seems such a long time when I see it written down. Thank you!
What a perfect list, I pretty much think mine would be exactly the same. I can’t actually believe I am hoping and praying the gyms re-open over the summer holidays so I can get back in there! That is SO not me!
Haha. I’m just ready to not be stuck in my village now, I haven’t left since before lockdown.
Love posts like this! Looks like you have some exciting times up!
Thanks. I hope so!
I can’t wait to be somewhere other than my own house. I really want to go away on a wee trip but unsure when all these places are going to be opening again.
Oh I know the feeling. I haven’t left my tiny village since before the lockdown!
I’m sorry to hear that your wedding has to be canceled, but don’t worry the best is yet to come. It is good looking forward to plans at the end of the lockdown. For me, I will resume traveling. Enjoy Disney Paris!
Thank you. I can’t wait for things to get back to normal.
Ahhh I loved this post, the weddings going to be even more special when it comes back around again I’m sure! 🙂

Thank you! I hope so.
Some fab plans here! Your new wedding date looks brilliant and hope it’s all you’ve ever wanted. I agree with the work life balance thing, it’s certainly been a silver lining to the whole situation! I don’t miss travelling 60 miles 2-3 times a week! I do miss the office though!
Thank you! I hope it’s the day we want too!
