Well it’s official, half of the year is over with. How crazy is that?! I hope 2022 hasn’t treated you badly so far and that the rest of the year goes well for you. It’s been a pretty good year for me so far. I think I’m finally ready to be back focusing on this little blog too! (I say that and this Happy List is stylishly late again haha) Here’s my monthly ramblings for June.

June was a pretty great month from time off work, some gorgeous weather, a spa break and some pretty wonderful things happening for my wedding blog, The Thrifty Bride, which I’ll get onto shortly. It was all going off last month!
1. I welcomed June with some time off work which is always very much enjoyed even if I don’t get up to much. We managed to pack a few things in though including some Jubilee celebrations and an overnight spa break which was very relaxing.
2. Time off means more time with my fur babies too. Whenever I’m off work we usually establish a very slow morning routine of coffee and cuddles in bed. I don’t know who enjoys it more, me or the cats! They absolutely love being around people so they’re always happy when I’m not at work.
3. A little earlier in the year I made a promise to myself that if I stopped biting my nails I’d go for regular nail appointments. In June I opted for them pink and spotty beauties above and I absolutely loved them. I’m so glad that I’ve been able to quit biting my nails after a lifetime of doing it on and off. Going for my nails doing is quickly becoming a little bit of self care that I absolutely love!
4. There was lots to celebrate in June. My wedding blog, The Thrifty Bride, was featured in a few news articles. I was asked to do an interview with a company called Diamonds Factory and it was picked up by the press. I still can’t believe a little blog I started in 2019 because of the lack of info around small budget weddings has skyrocketed the way it has. I’ve since had some more good news for that blog too but you’ll have to wait for July’s Happy List for that one!
5. The other celebration in the month was for my talented husband who bagged himself an amazing amount of new long term clients. The pandemic hit his freelance career very hard just as he was getting established and the last couple of years have been really tough for him. This year has been incredible though and he’s building himself a fantastic portfolio of clients many of who are choosing to work long term with him which just goes to prove what I’ve always known, that he’s an absolutely fantastic writer!
6. The flowers I planted at the end of May came out in full bloom this month. I love this time of year when the garden is brightened up with beautiful flowers. My strawberry plants are absolutely thriving too which I’m so pleased with because I’ve never grown anything of my own!
What did you get up to in June? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you!
I love your idea of making a happy list. I just started doing gratitude journal. I took some time off this summer also and I’m now getting back into the swing of things.
A gratitude journal sounds lovely!
Love the idea of a monthly happy list! Your nails look amazing!
Thank you so much!
It seems like a really lovely month from what you’ve shared. It’s wonderful to read that your bridal blog really took off and has some fun things in store (I look forward to reading about it all in your July happy list)!
Thank you!
This sounds like an amazing month! I spent June working on marketing my upcoming novel. May July bring you as many good things!
That’s very exciting, congratulations!
Congrats to your husband for getting loads of new clients! It sounds like it’s been a great year (and month) for you. I’m very impressed with the nails. I’ve been picking my nails since I was like 5, I don’t know how I’m going to break the habit but I’m desperate to try because they’re disgusting and I just want to go and get my nails done!
I’ve been trying for years to stop biting and I managed on the odd occasion. I don’t know what’s made me stick to it this time but it’s so nice having beautiful nails for once.
Flowers blooming are the best! And I hope your strawberries turn out well 🙂 Have a lovely July x
Thank you!
Great list, I too am trying to garden this year and have loved seeing my flowers bloom, it’s really satisfying
Thank you. It’s so rewarding isn’t it?!
