Well that’s another month down in 2021, isn’t time just flying?! I’m ready for spring now if I’m honest. I’m an autumn girl at heart and I love winter in the run up to Christmas but I’ve definitely reached the point where I’m ready for warmer weather, sunshine and blue skies and lighter evenings. Here’s how February went!

If I’m being honest February was a really funny month, still being in lockdown there’s nothing to do apart from go out to work and come home and watch TV. We did get the long awaited roadmap for the way out of lockdown though which has brought some much needed light to people’s lives. Under the roadmap guidance our August wedding would be able to go ahead restriction free however I’m approaching it with cautious optimism right now after postponing last year. Work was also super tough this month and then on my week off I was ill so that was super fun…not. Anyway here are the highlights from February:
1. I booked my wedding blog in for self hosting migration! I’ve had my wedding blog two years in June and ever since I went self hosted with this blog last April I’ve wanted to switch my wedding blog over too. I currently use Blogger and it’s absolutely awful, especially now I have the experience of self hosted WordPress. It’s not happening until April but it’s all booked in and I have a stunning theme lined up and I’m super ready to take the wedding blog to the next level. I can’t wait!
2. February was a slow month on this blog however I have appreciated stepping back from social media for a little bit and not stressing over numbers. It was a little disheartening at first considering my blog views were incredible last month but after a little while I stopped caring and just enjoyed not putting all my energy into it this month. With that being said, I had some amazing collaborations this month and my advertising packages have been super popular so that’s been lovely!
3. For Valentine’s Day we decided to get dressed up and pretend we were at The Cavern in Liverpool. Long time readers will know Liverpool has a special place in our hearts so we popped on a live stream from The Cavern and cracked open the beers. It was nice to do my hair and makeup for once and now feel like an utter potato!
4. I had a week off work which was certainly needed because boy is work tough right now. Unfortunately I was ill for the whole week but it meant I got to snuggle on the sofa with the cats and catch up on some great TV. I binged watched It’s A Sin and absolutely sobbed then I made a start on Marcella which I’m really enjoying.
5. I’ve already briefly mentioned the wedding but quite a while ago we made the decision that we’d go ahead with our wedding regardless of the restrictions. After postponing last year we really didn’t want to postpone again so it was the best option for us. Hearing that there’s plans for wedding to be completely restriction free from the 21st June though does give me some hope. Our wedding is two months after that date so I have everything crossed it can go ahead exactly as we originally planned it. I’ve been trying my best to get my wedding excitement back as recently there’s been a lot going on to kill it off. But I’ve pulled on my big girl pants and I’m focused on our wedding and I’m excited to get stuck in to the last few things we need to do!
So that was February, a bit of a rollercoaster. We still have March to get through in lockdown but I’m excited for some hopefully sunnier days coming over this next month and it’s Josh’s birthday too, he doesn’t like a fuss but it’ll be nice to spoil him a little!
How was February for you? Let me know in the comments!

February was a very up and down kind of month for me and I’m still trying to process it all however I have my fingers crossed for you and hope that your wedding goes well!
Thank you so much. I hope March is a better month for you.
So exciting that you’re going self hosted with the blog, and of course that your wedding will (fingers crossed) be restriction free. Like you, I am trying to get back in to planning again and I have to say creating more wedding content is really helping with that. I am still cautious but only because we are Winter and BJ has already said some social distancing might be required over winter. We shall see but like you, we will be going ahead regardless now.
Best get my bum in to gear!
I am sorry you weren’t well over half term but resting is probably exactly what you needed, it was exactly what I did x
I honestly can’t wait to be self hosted with the wedding blog! It’s so hard to try and feel excited but know plans may have to change. It kinda sucks we had all that wedding excitement taken away. The rest was very much needed!
Well done on booking your wedding blog in for a self migration, that’s so exciting! I love that you still dressed up for Valentines Day, that’s such a good idea to imagine that you were at the Cavern in Liverpool, I’ve been to Liverpool so many times and that’s one place I’d love to visit! x

It’s such a great place, you should definitely go when you have the opportunity! I can’t wait to be self hosted with my wedding blog!
It must be so hard dealing with having to keep postponing things – fingers crossed that everything goes according to plan for you this time. It’s great you’ve been able to focus on the positives despite a hard month and dressing up for an evening definitely sounds like fun!
Thank you. Postponing was hard which is why, unless we’re not actually allowed to get married, we won’t be postponing again.
That’s exciting you’re self-hosting your wedding blog & I hope your wedding goes well in August!
February wasn’t my best blogging month either, but hopefully this month will be better!
I’m sorry you were sick during your week off, but I hope you’re doing better.
Thank you, I’m much better now. I can’t wait to move to self hosting with my wedding blog!
It sounds like you have had a great month! I feel like a lot of people defend platforms like Blogger until they actually try the freedom of self-hosted WordPress and realize what the rest of us are raving about haha! I am excited to hear that things are looking good for your upcoming wedding, although I totally understand approaching that with cautious optimism. Everything feels so uncertain with the whole pandemic situation. Doesn’t it?
Oh gosh, I cannot believe how bad Blogger is now I’m self hosted with this blog. I cannot wait to get my wedding blog moved over because I hate blogging on there now. Thank you, but yes I want to feel excited but I also know plans could change.
Thank you, they’re my favourite posts to write so it always means a lot when other people enjoy them too. I can’t believe how quick it’s going!
Thanks for sharing what you have been doing in February, it is always a slow month to for me focusing in on my health 🙂
Sometimes it’s good to slow down though and focus on the important things.
