Happy List: August 2021

If you thought July’s Happy List was a big one then you’re definitely going to want to get comfortable for this one because I have so much to talk about. August was a very busy and very exciting month because we finally got married! We also went on a minimoon to Liverpool and before any of that we were wedding guests too.

It’s another double picture collage month because there’s just no way I could fit everything into 9 photos! So let’s get into the very exciting month that was August.

1. A lot of the month was taken up with wedding prep. We had a lots DIY projects to do so we were super busy. This is where the wedding excitement really ramped up because it was time to pull all the final bits together. When it came to wedding DIY’s we made our own card box, built a cake stand and made a photo booth back drop. We also had all of our favours to box up and our confetti to bag up. We were very busy!

2. Before our own wedding we were wedding guests at Josh’s brothers wedding. Well Josh was actually the best man. We had a lovely day and it made us even more excited for our own day.

3. I had the most beautiful bridal robe made. I really wanted a dressing gown for the morning of my wedding but I didn’t want the traditional white robe with ‘bride’ on the back of it. So I had a beautiful pink one made that fit perfectly with our Disney Up theme. I loved it.

4. A lot of the things for our wedding we did ourselves, I even did my own wedding makeup so it was nice to go for a bit of wedding pampering the day before the wedding and get my nails done. Josh’s auntie did them for me and I absolutely loved them. We even cracked out the prosecco.

5. One thing I didn’t do for the wedding was my own hair. I’m not great with hair. My sister-in-law did my hair for me and I loved it so much. It was exactly what I wanted. The back of my wedding dress was quite detailed so I wanted my hair up to show that off.

6. So our actual wedding was everything I dreamed of and more. I need to get on with writing some wedding posts over on my wedding blog but there’s just so much to write about and we’re waiting to get the professional photos back. I’m just so happy that we got the day we wanted after postponing last year. I’ve never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day. I loved my dress so much and felt like a real life Disney princess. Saying everything come together and our little vision come to life was amazing. Everyone has told us how much fun they had at our wedding and that’s exactly what we wanted, a super fun and relaxed wedding.

7. The day after our wedding we went to the Queen Symphonic concert at Castle Howard, it was a really good concert and a great first outing as Mr and Mrs!

8. A couple of days after the wedding we went to Liverpool on a minimoon. Our parents had booked us into the Hard Days Night hotel which is somewhere we’ve always wanted to stay. Our room had a balcony looking out over the city and the art work in the room was on Paul and Linda McCartney which was super fitting as we got engaged in Liverpool at a Paul McCartney concert! We had so much fun in Liverpool and did loads of stuff including going to the top of the Liver Building and playing golf at Junkyard Golf. It was such a lovely little break and I’m super glad we had a minimoon as we can’t really plan a honeymoon at the moment.

So that was August, I don’t think anything will ever beat this month. It was simply amazing. I mean teamed with July as well it’s just been a wonderful summer. I feel so happy and content.
