Wow! What. A. Month! July was a busy one, which is why I’ve ended up doing two photo collages for this post, that never happens! I just couldn’t narrow it down though because there’s been so many amazing things in July. I’m just so excited to share everything with you.

I’d get comfy for this one because I have so much to talk about. No matter what’s happening I always try to keep these Happy List’s positive but I’m also a realistic blogger and I’ve spoken openly about this year really not been a great one for me. So I can’t tell you how good and exciting it feels to actually be writing a truly positive Happy List for July! So let’s get into it, here’s how my month went:
1. I kicked off the month off with a big hair makeover. When I chopped 8 inches off my hair a few months ago it cut off most of my balayage. So in July the blonde came back, I just feel much more like myself with blonde hair. I’m toying with the idea of cutting a little bit more off my hair after the wedding but we’ll see.
2. The first big event of the month was my hen party. After postponing our wedding last year it’s nice to get some excitement back and hit some of the milestones that we didn’t get to hit before. I had so, so much fun on my hen party. I just wanted something really relaxed and laid back so I had a sparkling afternoon tea. The food was out of this world and it was so good to spend some quality time with people. Also, I’m not going to lie, it was nice to dress up, whack on my new sparkly heels and feel kinda pretty for once.
3. July is always a good month for me because it’s when I welcome in the summer holidays. I work in a school and the summer holidays are always very much needed. It came just at the right time too as the July heatwave was just starting as the summer holidays started. Massive bonus!
4. Towards the end of the month I had a second little hen do outing. Last year I’d planned to have a girly day with my mum and her partner as a mini hen but obviously with no wedding last year it didn’t happen. When we started talking about it this year we decided we didn’t want to go with our original plan of a spa day and wanted to do something a bit more unique instead. So we went alpaca trekking! I cannot even tell you how much fun it was. We went to Willow Tree Family Farm in Nottingham and I walked an alpaca called Fifi. It was such a lovely experience and after the walk we looked around the farm which was really nice too. We ended the day with a meal out where my fiancé joined us.
5. I booked a surprise night away for Josh and I and we went to a beautiful spa hotel. We didn’t go far, the hotel is in our town but it was so nice to just get away and totally switch off and relax. The hotel was gorgeous and we spent so much time in the spa. We also had dinner in a tipi and the food so delicious!

6. July was definitely a month for full on wedding planning as there’s really not long to go now. Finding out our wedding day could go ahead exactly as we’ve planned was such a relief and makes the fact that we had to postpone worth it. I lost my wedding excitement for a very long time but in July it definitely came back. We’ve been doing so much, from final meetings, DIY projects and I’ve even bought the cats bow ties for on the wedding day! I’m getting ready at home so it was only right that the cats looked smart too!
7. Speaking of weddings, I’m really enjoying all the little bits we’ve got left to do. We ordered our wedding favours in July and I think they’re so cute. I also had my hair trail and practiced my makeup. I haven’t included any photos of it on here as there’s family that see these posts and they don’t want to see things about the wedding until the day! My sister-in-law is doing my hair and I’m doing my own makeup. Of course after having my hair done and practicing my makeup I had to go all out and try on my dress too. I felt like a princess and for the first time ever I felt like a bride.
8. The last big event of the month was my 30th birthday. It only seems like two minutes ago that I was celebrating my 21st but here we are. I had a little bit of a melt down pre-birthday and got all my thoughts out in a blog post. The truth is 30 feels scary, it feels like I’m getting older, it feels like I should have my life together. My actual birthday was lovely though. I had a quiet day as Josh was at work but I received some lovely presents and I still have a birthday spa holiday to look forward to that Josh is going to book. I also had a surprise birthday meal at the weekend. I thought it was just Josh and I going out but when we got there our parents were there too and I had the most delicious birthday cake too!
So that was July! What a very busy month but very fun month! August finally sees our wedding going ahead and I can’t wait to share all that stuff with you!
