Happy List: April 2020

Well here we are at the start of a new month and yet again time is just speeding by. April was the first full month in lockdown in the U.K. and whilst March’s Happy List was hard for me to write as the lockdown had just started, April was far more positive.

Obviously I’d prefer the circumstances to be much better than they are but overall I had a really good month in April, I found and embraced lots of positives to the lockdown and I cannot tell you have much I am loving and appreciating having more time to do things I want to do. We still don’t know what’s happening with the wedding but I’m just going with it and trying to still enjoy it because if it goes ahead I don’t want to have wasted the run up to it feeling miserable. Here’s how April went:

1. You just know I’m going to be a typical Brit and start this list of with talking about the weather but oh boy were we blessed with some gorgeous weather in April. I definitely think the blue skies, the warm sunshine and being able to spend a lot of time outside in our garden went a long way to helping me feel a lot more positive. I’d definitely like some more of that beautiful weather though. I spent so much time outside reading which is one of my absolute favourite things to do and as a result I got through quite a few books.
2. Has there been a Happy List this year so far that hasn’t mentioned Disney pins? Probably not! If you’ve read my other lists then you’ll know we’re buying the Minnie Mouse The Main Attraction pins which are a monthly release from the Disney Store. I haven’t included this months in the pictures but this months attraction was It’s a Small World and they’re the most beautiful pastel coloured pins. I also got some amazing Halloween pins too. I love collecting Disney Halloween pins so I was super happy to add three amazing ones to my collection.
3. Thanks to the glorious weather we’ve been able to have a couple of BBQ’s this month and they’ve made for the best days. Chilling out in the garden with some beers and music with the smell of burgers cooking on the BBQ. It’s meant my fiance and I have been able to completely switch off from work and the world and just enjoy each others company.
4. Aside from working at home when it’s not my actual turn to go into work I’ve been really enjoying having a lot more time to do things I want to do. My new swear words colouring book has been great and the huge cake I baked was amazing. I even managed to get a wedding DIY completed and repainted the houses we’ve got to hide the balloon weights on the table. Then of course I’ve been writing lots of blog posts too.
5. Speaking of blogging, I went self hosted this month which was a huge step for me. I’m slowly getting used to being on WordPress and it’s great knowing I own my site. I’m hoping this is the start of bigger and better things for my blog. I’m in love with how my blog looks now and even though I lost all comments I’m really glad I made the move.
6. In April we found a new favourite time of the day to go for a walk, just as the sun has almost set. It’s such a peaceful time and we’ve seen some beautiful sunsets so I definitely think we’ll be going on more walks at the time in the future.

So that was April and given the odd world we live in now I don’t think it was to bad of a month for me. We’re all going to have to get used to a new normal so I’ve been doing just that!
