Happy List: November 2024

5 December 2024 Leave a Comment

Wow, we’re almost at the end of the year. I can’t believe Christmas month is here already. And yes, I did say Christmas month! I love Christmas and the festive cheer definitely started kicking in at the end of November. It was another quiet month of books and colouring, but I am absolutely not complaining about that. Let’s take a look back at November!

1. November was quiet on all fronts. Not too many plans and not too much work, which when you’re self-employed can be a bit of a worry. But I’m actually not stressing about it, which is not like me at all! I’ve decided to fully embrace this quieter period to work on my own projects and enjoy the build-up to Christmas. When I look back at my Happy List from this time last year, I know what I crazy period it was. I was newly self-employed and burning out fast. My work days usually spanned from 8 am to 6 pm or beyond and I found it very hard to switch off. I wasn’t taking proper care of myself and I was so busy in a bad way so I think I’ve totally earned a quieter end to this year. That’s why I’m not even actively looking for more clients right now, I’ll stick with the little workload I have that I know I can manage over Christmas and just totally enjoy the festivities!

2. November was all about cosy reading evening. I actually ended up with the flu in November which was not fun at all and the chesty side to it has taken some shifting but it did mean that when the worst of it was over and I wasn’t a miserable mess on the sofa, that I could just spend my evenings wrapped in a blanket and reading with the perfect excuse that I was getting over my illness! I read some amazing books in November and you can read my monthly reading wrap-up here. I also dipped my toes into creating reading vlogs which I had so much fun doing and you can watch the first of those here.

3. At the same time as I had the flu our hoover and oven broke. Both were thankfully fixed by my father-in-law but it was definitely a miserable few days thinking that I would need to buy new items on top of feeling really rubbish. To cheer me up, my mum sent me a cute little bookish delivery with the Once Upon a Broken Heart series in it. I’m so excited to get stuck into this series and they’re easily some of the most beautiful paperback books I’ve seen.

4. I decided to treat myself to two new colouring books in November as I haven’t bought any since starting colouring in August. I of course had to buy a Christmas one and although I love both colouring books that I bought, it’s been all about the Christmas one for me because it just has to be at this time of year doesn’t it?! It’s such a great colouring book, easily one of the best that I own and I’ve been absolutely loving the pictures in it.

5. Of course the Snow Fairy shower gel and the Snow Fairy body spray had to come out in mid-November. I think that was when I accepted that I was in full-on Christmas mode! It’s an absolute staple for me at this time of year. Yes, it’s very sweet but there’s just something about the fragrance that I absolutely love!

And that just about wraps up November’s Happy List. We’re now into one of the best months of the year so I have no doubt that there will be lots to cover in the next Happy List! I hope you all have a lovely December.
