Happy List: October 2024

4 November 2024 Leave a Comment

Ok, how is one of my favourite months of the year over? How are we so close to Christmas now? It’s scary how fast the second half of this year has gone! October was actually a very quiet month for me however it did give me the time to get very busy on some new projects which I’ll tell you about shortly! It’s probably going to be a short and sweet Happy List this month but I can’t complain because there have been some bloody brilliant months this year!

1. If you read last month’s Happy List then you’ll know that it was a great month for blogging and for starting my own little projects with BookTube, BookTok and Bookstagram. September was a great month for blogging on here and I was open about the fact that since becoming self-employed my huge goal is to make a big chunk of my monthly salary from my own projects. It’s the dream right, completely working for yourself and not clients! So I’ve thrown myself fully into those bookish communities, not just for financial gain (full transparency, they’re earning £0 right now!) but because I’m really enjoying it and because who knows where it will lead in the future.

October marked one whole year of self-employment so there’s no better time to really try this out really. Because I’m an all-or-nothing kind of person too I decided why not launch a brand new blog to tie in with all of my bookish stuff too?! I’d been dabbling with some book content on here but it just felt right having a proper dedicated space from it so any support on my Cozy Vibes With Lauren blog would be much appreciated!

2. I’ve been loving colouring in October, it’s just such a fun way to completely switch off and I’m learning a lot more tips and tricks now. My colourings are by no means a work of art but I’m having fun and that’s all that matters. I was particularly proud of the Grim Reaper one above though, I think it looks so good! I could honestly spend a fortune on colouring supplies.

3. Of course we had to have all of the autumn and Halloween vibes in October. I had my Halloween nails done, the cats got dressed up for the occasion and I treated myself to a bottle of the 19 Crimes Halloween wine where the label glowed in the dark! October is definitely one of my favourite months and although I didn’t get to do a lot of autumn or Halloween activities this year (I still haven’t ever been pumpkin picking!), it was still a great month.

I honestly think that’s about it for October, I told you it was a quiet one! I don’t think we have many plans for November either to be honest but I love that this month starts to build up to Christmas, it just feels so magical. December is a busy month though, like always so it’s nice to have some quiet time before the madness of it all!

What did you get up to in October? Any plans for November? Let me know in the comments!
