Well it’s official, half of the year is over and done with now. How crazy is that?! June was an absolutely wonderful month though, sunshine, a holiday and lots of time reading. Absolutely perfect. Let’s take a look at happened in June.

1. Ok, so the big thing for me in June was our holiday. We went to Albufeira in Portugal for a week and it was absolutely amazing. The last time we went on holiday abroad was when we went to Florida in 2018. We actually hadn’t had a beach type holiday since 2010 so to say this was much needed was an understatement! We did absolutely nothing but relax on the holiday and it was just perfect. We loved the marina in Albufeira and it was definitely our favourite place to go on an evening. We also visited Sao Rafael beach was absolutely beautiful with stunning rock formations. There were walking path on some of the rocks so you could see all around the coast. It was truly amazing been up there and so peaceful, definitely a spot to reflect on how good life it right now and how far we’ve come over the past couple of years.
2. During the holiday we made a lovely little cat friend that you can see in the second photo. She appeared a couple of days into our holiday then every time we sat on our balcony she’d come and join us. We think she was looked after by the hotel staff as she was very healthy and well looked after and seemed quite happy around the hotel. Stupid, over-emotional me actually cried for her when we left though. Note to self, don’t get attached to cats on holiday.
3. In what is turning into a cat heavy post, the cat that isn’t our cat (Thomas) has featured a few times on here over the years. He’s been around ever since we moved in almost seven years ago and has visited us almost daily. However his owner has moved a couple a streets away and despite trying to get Thomas to move too he doesn’t seem to want to go and now basically lives with us. In fact as I type this he’s laid on our sofa next to me, so I think I might have to stop referring to him as the cat that isn’t our cat now!
4. I’ve was out on a lot of trips for work in June which was actually lots of fun but extremely tiring. The best trip was definitely Flamingo Land though, it was a really fun day and I even got a Fanta Frozen which was a win.
5. Back at home the weather was amazing in June so I’ve spent a lot of time out in the garden reading which is just about one of my absolute favourite things to do. We even watched Glastonbury in the garden the other week as we headed round to my mother-in-laws for wine, a BBQ and Glastonbury.
I short but very sweet list this month. After the holiday it was just all about chilling in the sunshine back at home and heading back to work. Naturally, working in a school I’m on the big countdown to the summer holidays now which are coming up in July. It’s also my birthday month too so July should be quite a nice month too.
I hope you all had a lovely June. Let me know what you got up to in the comments.

Sounds like a lovely month and the weather certainly has been fantastic 😊
