How to create a home cleaning routine that works

The last thing that you want to do when you’re finished a very long day at work is to clean the house. Unfortunately as adults, cleaning the house has to be a daily routine. However there is a big difference between cleaning the house and just keeping on top of an already clean environment. Routines are so important when you want to run a household and stay organised, and routines can help you to become a more confident and less stressed individual.

The problem with routines is that often we went to rebel against things that hem us in. If you don’t stick to the house cleaning routine, you’re going to end up needing drain cleaning services when your drains are clogged and your sinks are dirty, you’re going to need to call in a deep cleaning team to deep clean the skirting boards, the fans and the oven, and your appliances aren’t going to work for as long as they should. If you want to stop procrastinating and start following the household routine that you’re actually going to stick to, here is the way that you create a home cleaning routine that works.

Make a list of what’s necessary

What does your house need to be able to thrive? What do you need to do to keep your home looking wonderful and smelling good? It’s important that you know the answer to this question, because not knowing the answer is really going to hurt when things go wrong. decide on the necessary jobs and then divide them up into monthly, weekly, and daily chores. The idea of cleaning the house can be overwhelming, but if you know you only have one or two tasks to do per day it can feel much more manageable.

Put the plan on the wall

Get out your best pens, your most colourful vibrant paper and as many stickers you can handle. You need to make sure that your plan is eye-catching and makes you want to read it. Sure, nobody wants to look at a cleaning routine and actually have to do the work, but if you want to clean the house and you want less bacteria in your home then this is the way to do it.

Know your limits

If your routines aren’t working for you and your family, or you have children, or you have a full-time job, go easy on yourself. It’s not easy to keep on top of the cleaning routine when there’s so many other things in your life going on right now. There is a triangle: clean house, happy kids, happy parents. You can only choose two things and that triangle and most of the cases show that the house will be full by the wayside. It’s okay to take a break, just don’t leave it so long but you can’t get back on top of it again.

Consider a cleaner

Hire a regular cleaner. If you know that you’re not going to be able to stick to this routine, hire somebody and pay them to do it for you. It will make a massive difference to your health and your home.
