Nothing gives a home the feeling of freshness like a good deep spring cleaning. With so many things to clean, from toothbrushes and bedsheets to windows and furniture, sometimes it’s easy to forget a few locations here and there. Here are 8 spots you might have missed during the original spring cleaning that you can revisit for a squeaky-clean house!

Reusable shopping/grocery bags
You have cut down on plastic use with these bags. That’s great! But it’s important to remember that these can also get dusty, just like any other type of clothing.
If your reusable bags are not washing machine-safe, soak the bags in warm water, clean them with a sponge or spare toothbrush, rinse, and let air dry.
Cutting boards
Wooden cutting boards should be cleaned after each use with warm water and a gentle sponge and dried with a cloth.
But if you have a particular food stain that’s made a home for itself on the board, or it’s become smelly, just cut a lemon in half and run it alongside the stains. You can also add baking soda or salt for extra effect.
Rinse and remember to dry the board off if it’s made out of wood.
The microwave
Add 2 cups of water and 2 tablespoons of vinegar and optional essential oils to a large microwave-safe bowl. Turn the microwave on for 5 minutes or until the ingredients boil. Let the solution rest in there for 15 minutes until the grime on the walls and turntable softens.
Carefully remove the bowl (it may be hot) and start whipping the turntable and the walls with paper towels or a clean rag.
Remember not to let any liquids get into the vents during the cleaning.
You can also use a lemon to clean the microwave.
Water tanks
Unclean water tanks are breeding grounds for all kinds of bacteria, and you don’t want that. Make sure you maintain your water tank by cleaning it thoroughly so you are sure the water you and your family is using isn’t contaminated.
Makeup brushes
Squeeze some baby shampoo on your palm and gently rub the brush’s bristles until the oil and dirt have been cleaned.
To rinse the brushes, hold them (bristles down) under the water and leave them on a paper towel until dry.
Electronic devices
Remove the cases and turn the devices off. First, clean the surface of your gadget with a microfiber cloth, followed by a disinfecting wipe.
Don’t spray cleaning substances directly on your phone, laptop or other electronic devices.
The underside of chairs and tables
Dust and dirt are usually wiped during normal cleanings, but the furniture’s underside can’t be forgotten. Also, remember to flip your couch cushions and clean them just as you would normally clean the surface of your furniture.
The cleaning supplies
Your cleaning buddies need to be cleaned too! Don’t forget to empty the dustbin of your vacuum cleaner and wipe any debris remaining on your brooms’ brushes.
And voila! A nice and clean home for a relaxing feel.

These are definitely places I forget! My aunt taught me the lemon microwave trick a while ago! Our microwave can get pretty gross at times. I definitely need to do more to clean my devices and gadgets! x
The microwave is something I always seem to forget! I think it’s just so easy to pop things in and out then close the door and forget about it.
You’ve reminded me that I need to clean out my microwave! These are things I would never think about cleaning too often and I’ll be adding these to my spring clean list! x

A list is a great idea! That way you make sure you’re covering everything and you get the satisfaction of ticking things off too!
Never thought about grocery bags but it’s a good idea!! Don’t think we’ve ever cleaned under our tables. Now I’m thinking of all the dust that’s probably under there! Thanks for the ideas!
It’s so easy to forget about some places around the house!
You’re so right about these things! I always forget about the microwave!

Honestly, it’s so easy to forget about some places isn’t it?!
I must admit I’d not thought of cleaning underneath my chairs and sofas – that’s a great tip – next time we vacuum I’ll make sure we do this, thank you!
There’s so many easy to forget places!
I prefer to Vaccum all the windows and sofas every alternative day, to keep my house dirt and germ-free.
