This is a guest post.
Do you have goals for this autumn? How do you stick with your goals? Every time I open my desktop, I will see my planner with a ton of bullet-pointed tasks. We all have goals – daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly goals.

I always start the month pumped myself to achieve more, but just a few weeks later I’m exhausted and slowly give up on them. As a result, I end up judging myself for not being consistent with my goals and wait for the next month to set them all over again.
So, in today’s post, I’ll be talking about the 6 tips to help you stay on the right track, that might make a huge difference in whether or not you’re successful.
Set up realistic goals
Are your goals too big or too out of reach? Have you asked yourself if your goals fit with your life?
I always heard a mantra like ‘think big’ or ‘the bigger the better’, but when it comes to your life goals, it’s easier to set up realistic goals. For example, I say things like, ‘My goal this month is to hit 300 followers on Twitter,’ even though I know it’s not easy. Then, I ended up overwhelming myself to hit 200 by the end of the month and feeling frustrated.
It will be hard to stick with your goals if they weren’t made in a realistic way. When developing goals, you should remember to keep them within your reach, and have them focused and well planned out.
Write them down & make it simple
Have goals this autumn? Write them down. I like to write them on my digital planner to clarify what I want to achieve this month. This is also a way to motivate me and update me with the progress.
If you feel overwhelmed by a big goal in front of you, then break it down into smaller, more manageable tasks. That way you won’t be stressed over all the things you need to do and only focus on what you can do today.
The key here is to not focus on your big goals, but to look at the next step you need to take. This makes your goal more real in your mind and ensures that you’ll actually follow through with it.
Set aside time, repeat, and make it a habit
Set aside time each day toward achieving your goals – it might be 10-15 minutes or more. For example, if your goal is to learn something new like playing guitar, you can put aside 15 minutes a day to practice first and then increase the time as you get better.
Make sure to repeat that 15 minutes above and make it a habit until you think you’ve nailed it.
Download a great app
You know that there’s an app for everything now. So, why not download ones to help you stick with your goals?
Here are several apps that are effective in keeping you on track with goals and even get digital support from friends and family. Try downloading one of those apps to help you along the way.
Self-belief
It’s very important you believe in yourself and your abilities to achieve your goals. Start by writing a list of all your accomplishments and why you can achieve your goal. Next, write about all the things stopping you (relationship, family situation, finance, commitments getting in the way) and work out how you can change these things.
It’s also important to realise that you will grow on your journey, both with confidence and skills. Instead of basing your beliefs on what you possess today, part of your self-belief will be in your ability to adapt, learn and change your attitude as you progress.
Surround yourself with others who’ve succeeded
Surrounding yourself with positive energy. It means with other people who are successful in order to help stick to your goals, or with those who have positive can-do attitudes will inspire you to be the same. If your friends are on similar journeys to you (getting fit, changing career, learning to play instruments) it will be so much easier to discuss your problems, or ask advice when things get tricky. They affect your opinions, motivations and will inspire and motivate you.
Final thoughts
There will be days when you find yourself on the losing side and wishing that you hadn’t gone so far to reach your goals.
So whenever you face those days, please remember that no matter how far behind you from the track, it’s never too late to get back on, and any progress you made is a step forward to your goal, no matter how small they are.
Feel proud of yourself over small wins. No matter what progress you made, it’s still progress, it’s still a step in the right direction and you should celebrate it!

Yes it’s always great to see others in the blogging world doing well!
I’m the same. Sometimes I just want to do everything straight away.
Thanks for reading and sharing a bit of advice!
Great tips! I usually get burnout due to juggling university, my job, blogging, and basically adult life. Even tho I plan to slowly go back on schedule. I do miss blogging quite a lot.

It’s hard juggling everything. I know blogging is the thing that takes a backseat for me when I’m busy at work and with life in general.
