Self care has been viewed as something that you have to spend a lot of money on which is not true, that’s why I am sharing with you self care ideas on a budget. There are a lot of self care ideas that you can do that will not put a dent in your pocket, most human beings are lazy when it comes to taking care of themselves. Awareness has increased when it comes to self care these days because we are starting to look at stress and mental health issues differently. From something to hide to something that you can talk about openly.

Reorganize your closet
I will be the first to admit that my closet is always a mess, but whenever I stressed out or I just need to clear my head. I always reorganize my closet because it helps me out, the process of bringing my clothes out, folding my clothes, and putting them back helps me feel relaxed. You can try this budget-friendly self care idea and see how it works for you.
Give yourself an at-home mani-pedi
Have a mini party by yourself, get some wine and some hot water, add some Epsom salt for relaxation then soak your hands in it for some minutes and then do the same for your feet, this helps you relax quickly, you can also add in some facial treatments too.
Switch up your morning
You can change your morning routine, this will help in not doing the same thing every day (some people get bored doing it), switch it up, you can first go for a run before you have your coffee or just do something really fun when you wake up.
Do something creative
Bring out your inner creativity, you can start by figuring out what it is that you love doing, for me, it is drawing and I try my best every day to draw because it helps me relax. If you love drawing or painting, writing a book, or singing something that brings out your inner creativity, then go for it.
Attend a virtual concert
With everything going on with the pandemic, there is not much concert to attend physically, so you can look for virtual concerts that you can attend, so get comfy on the couch, have some drinks at the ready, get prepared to have some fun by yourself.
Bake yourself something
An self-care idea on a budget is to bake yourself something nice, even if you can’t bake, just give it a go and see what happens, you can look up some recipes on Pinterest.
Plant something
It’s good to have some plants around you, it makes your space look good and also helps with mood-boosting, lowers your anxiety, reduces stress, and increases both your productivity and creativity, plus you are also helping nature grow as well.
Try out some DIY face mask
Doing self-care without having a facial isn’t proper self-care, you can try out some of the DIY face mask tutorials on Pinterest and YouTube. Just don’t forget the wine to go with it.
Do yoga
I literally do yoga every day, it has help me a lot especially when it comes to clearing my mind, yoga helps in improving your strength, your balance, and flexibility, it boost your mood and help manage your stress levels.
Learn to meditate
Meditation is one of the free self-care ideas out there, it also has a lot of benefits, it helps reduce stress, it increases your focus, creativity, and memory. By meditating you will be emotionally balanced, it will reduce your pain, anxiety, and depression.
Positive affirmations
Affirmation is an important part of self-care, it motivates us to work on our goals, it gives us that confidence boost that we need once in a while, and it helps change the negative thoughts that occur in our minds.
Read a book
Books help stimulate the mind, they also help you improve your memory and have better focus, it also helps strengthen your writing abilities.
Do some journaling
Journaling is another budget-friendly self-care idea, by journaling you get to write out your feelings, it helps improve your communication skills, with it you get to learn from your past mistakes and heal faster from past pain.
Practice gratitude
Gratitude helps us feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve our health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships, this is one of the best self-care ideas that you can do for yourself.
They are all the tips I have for you on self care ideas on a budget, I hope this helps start your self care journey.

It definitely doesn’t some of the simplest things can be the best things for you!
These are good simple things to do for self care. I think it’s high time I try yoga. Thank you for sharing.
I hope you enjoy it.
These are great tips – my wardrobe will thank you for being included in the self-care! It definitely needs some love (and a change of season!)
Oh mine definitely does too. I need a good clear out!
I love this, I don’t think you have to break the bank with self care. A simple night at home to myself with a sheet mask, hair mask and book is ideal for me!
Rosie
Oh yes that’s definitely my kind of self care night too!
These are some brilliant ideas, especially decluttering, meditating and affirmations xx
Thank you!
I love these ideas! Especially if you want to do something spontaneous or, like you say, are on a budget, some of the classics aren’t always an option, but that doesn’t stop the simple things being just as powerful. I cleared out a bookcase yesterday and totally agree with how therapeutic that feels. Great post!
A good clear out is always good! It just feels so much better to have a tidy and organised space.
