What. A. Year. I think we can all agree 2020 has not been great. We all have years we don’t feel are our best but I think we can all collectively agree that 2020 has been pretty terrible for us all. With that being said though I do believe in finding the positives and for me Christmas is a huge positive that’s shining brightly at the end of this dark year. Christmas is not cancelled. Sure it may be a little different this year but the magic of Christmas is still there.

I’ve always loved Christmas, it’s not something I’ve ever grown out of which I’m super thankful for. I still truly believe in the magic of Christmas. I don’t mean I’m a 29 year old that still believes Santa leaves presents under the tree for me but that magic is still very much there and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
I think deep down we all knew the festive season would be a little different this year. As much as we hoped that normality would return. For me Christmas is all about the build up and run up not just Christmas Day. I actually enjoy the run up to Christmas more than the day itself! So I’m not going to lie, not having a jam packed schedule of Christmas fun in the lead up has been hard. I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed Christmas markets, how much I’ve missed popping to the shops to see all the Christmas decorations. It’s been difficult but I haven’t let the notion of Christmas is cancelled effect my enjoyment.
Because let’s face it, it’s far from cancelled. How many of us got into the Christmas spirit earlier this year? How many people put their trees up earlier than normal? How many people bought a few extra gifts for loved ones than usual? How many of us felt grateful that although we might not be able to see all of our family this festive season that we still had people to share some of the magic with? Christmas is not cancelled.
I for one have definitely gone a little extra with gifts this year. I know it’s not all about money and presents. Far from it. But I am in the very fortunate position of being able to treat people a lot more this year, thanks to lots of hard work and saving. I love buying gifts for people so why not spoil them this year?! I’ve also fully embraced all the festive food, I mean there’s absolutely nothing new there. I’m not even going to blame 2020 for that, I just bloody love Christmas food! Everything I love about Christmas is still there. Sure there have been parts missing but there’s still been good food, good drink, movies, songs, snuggly pjs, Christmas decorations, fairy lights, candles and a warm, loving home to enjoy all that in.
I’ve been determined to fully enjoy my favourite time of the year and I think I’ve been pretty successful in doing so. I truly hope you’ve managed to enjoy the run up to Christmas too. I know it has been hard and I know there’s things you’ll have missed deeply but please remember Christmas 2020 is still magical.
This is my last blogmas 2020 post for a couple of days now as I take some time off to enjoy Christmas. I want to thank you all for reading my Christmas posts this year and making my favourite season just that little but more special. I want to wish you all a merry Christmas and I hope you have the best day ever!

I’ve loved your blogmas posts this year! Thank you for sharing so much! Have an amazing Christmas!

Oh thank you so much, that means a lot! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed them.
I agree, Christmas is what you make of it. I love Christmas, big or small. As long as I’ve got my children with me that’s all that’s needed for me to have an amazing day. Hope you have a fab Xmas 💜💜
That’s lovely. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
Merry Christmas!! I hope, despite everything, you have a wonderful time. It has been a tough year for sure, but I am hoping that Christmas can be a little light in the darkness.
Sending love x
It certainly was a little light for me, I hope it was for you too.
I think even though Christmas is “canceled” somewhat, we all seemed more festive as you said. I too put my tree up early, i bought more gifts & sent more cards. I think people need more love and appreciation during these times. I hope you still have a wonderful Christmas!
I hope you had a lovely Christmas.
I hope you enjoy your Christmas! Even though Christmas isn’t the same this year, there is still festive magic all around. I’m trying to focus on the positive, and be thankful for all that I do have. 💜😊 Thank you for sharing.
That’s a great way to look at it. I hope you had a lovely Christmas.
This holiday is going to be a tough one, but we’re going to make it work, together! I hope you will enjoy Christmas! Happy Holidays!
