I love a good cosy Christmassy day, don’t you? You know the ones where there’s nothing much really happening but you just feel super happy and content. A simple, relaxed day to appreciate the joy of the season. Here are 5 ways to get cosy this Christmas.

Read a book
The ultimate relaxing activity to whisk you away to a happy place. Am I right? I love reading Christmas books in December and have a whole host of novels that have become regular reads for me over the years. Nothing quite beats A Christmas Carol for me though. I read it every single December without fail and have done for around the last 10 years now.
I like to cosy up under a blanket with my book of choice usually in the chair we have right near the Christmas tree and get lost in a festive tale. There’s nothing quite like it both to relax me and put me in the Christmas spirit.
Make a big deal of wrapping gifts
I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty terrible at wrapping gifts and I have to do it in small bouts because I end up getting annoyed. That being said though I do like to make a bit of a thing of of wrapping presents to make me feel festive. I like to get a good Christmas playlist going and wear a Christmas jumper and have a glass of Baileys or mulled wine to hand. It makes the task much more fun and makes me feel really Christmassy!
Take a bath and light those candles
Christmas scents are a big part of what makes me feel festive. I just love those warming, spicy scents. So there’s nothing better on an evening then soaking in a hot bath that contains a Christmas bath bomb or some festive bubbles and having candles or wax melts dotted around the bathroom. I absolutely love baths and it’s a great time to switch off and relax. I ordered some super cute Christmas bath bombs from a lovely small business, Bubble Trouble last month to fulfil my Christmas bath needs!
Enjoy your traditions
Do you have any Christmas traditions? If not, now might be the time to make some up. We have lots of little traditions that I enjoy such as decorating our Christmas tree on an evening rather than during the day to make it feel even cosier when it’s dark outside. Buying a bottle of Baileys and saving the first drink for the 1st December. Or watching A Muppet Christmas Carol and Polar Express every Christmas Eve. They’re all part of what makes December special for us and I enjoy all the little things that are personal to us. Having Christmas traditions is a great way to appreciate the little things.
Share Christmas memories
Maybe you keep memory boxes or maybe you have a stack of photos from Christmases gone by. Maybe there’s a particular Christmas memory that sticks out for you. Spend an evening sharing Christmas memories with someone. If you’re a blogger or vlogger you could look back at old Christmas posts or videos. Chat about your favourite Christmas memories and what you love about Christmas and dig out those old photos to have a good laugh at.
So there are 5 easy ways to get cosy this Christmas and inject a bit of extra festive cheer into the days leading up to Christmas.

Personally, enjoying Christmas traditions is my fave on this list! We are a huge, extended family in the Philippines and we just get so festive and fun during the holidays. We have toddlers that make a mess everywhere in the house and we just have a great time always. I also like the 5th on the list which is sharing Christmas memories. That’s a fantastic way to stir conversation.

That sounds lovely! I bet your Christmas is very busy but fun!
I love these ideas. I have a chair that I read (and blog in) that is just in front of the tree. It is most definitely my happy place.
In front of the fire is where I plan to spend the next few days x x
Both of those sound absolutely lovely!
So many cute and cosy ideas in this post. I love to make a song and a dance about doing my wrapping. I get a large glass of something ready, set up my living room and stick a Christmas film on. It is bliss!

That sounds absolutely perfect!
I used to be horrible at wrapping gifts, but since I worked in a store I’m actually pretty skilled and I started to like it! It’s the perfect way to prepare for Christmas.
That’s great! I don’t think I’ll ever be good at wrapping!
What a great post! I’ve been really enjoying getting back into reading this year, but I haven’t read a book themed around Christmas before, but it sounds like it’d be such a cute and festive read!xx

I highly recommend reading some Christmas books to really get in the festive spirit!
I love wrapping presents while watching It’s a wonderful life…it really brightens up a task I’m rubbish at
That’s a lovely way to do it!
I used to always put on a Santa hat and turn the Christmas tunes right up but I’ve kinda lost the will to do that these last couple of years. I’m really not feeling Christmassy this year but I’m gonna do that this year and hopefully it’ll feel more like Christmas x
I don’t think anyone is feeling that Christmassy this year. I hope you manage to get a little bit of festive magic though.
Cosy is pretty much what we’re aiming for this year and I am so looking forward to it. Our new tradition is wearing special PJs for the day! I hope you have a wonderful holiday!
I love that! I hope you have a lovely Christmas!
I’m like you when I’m wrapping presents, I have to wrap them with Christmas music playing in the background! x

That’s great to hear! I’m glad you’re having a lovely festive season.
Enjoying traditions is such a lovely idea- thank you for these suggestions Lauren 🙂
