Halloween at Walt Disney World

27 October 2020 Comments : 34

There’s something extra magical about Halloween at Walt Disney World. They go big, they go grand and it’s honestly such a wonderful time to visit. Seen as we’re only a few days away from Halloween now and the holiday is going to look a little different for everyone in the current climate, I thought I would share my favourite Halloween photos from our last Disney World trip in 2018.

If you’ve visited my blog for a while now you’ll know that I absolutely adore Disney and our trips to Walt Disney World mean everything to me. Unfortunately it’s been a couple of years since we visited the most magical place on Earth and we’ve no idea when we’ll get back. So I wanted to relive some of the magic and share some of my favourite photos from my favourite trip. This isn’t an informational post as such, there are far better Disney blogs out there that can tell your everything you need to know about visiting Disney at Halloween. But I just wanted to share some memories today. Enjoy!

We’ve only ever visited Disney World in August, but luckily for us, Disney start their Halloween celebrations very early! The first year we visited (2015) all the decorations we’re out and the Halloween merch was lining the stores but it was a little too early for the famous Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. However with our second trip in 2018 we went a little later on in August and Disney started the party season a little earlier. Those two things combined meant that Disney World was in full Halloween spirit during our trip and we got to attend our very first MNSSHP!

The Halloween decorations are wonderful, without attending a party but I would highly recommend going to MNSSHP if you can because it’s absolutely amazing! Our 2018 trip has about a million special memories for me and it’s honestly the most wonderful holiday I’ve ever had. But getting to attend MNSSHP is right up at the top as one of my favourite things about that trip.

Of course one of the big reasons I love Halloween at Disney is because my favourite attraction, The Haunted Mansion, gets a staring roll! From more merch to party night photo ops. The Haunted Mansion at Halloween is even better (no I didn’t think it was possible either) than at any other time.

I honestly think our Disney World trips are what really started my love of Halloween. I’ve always enjoyed the holiday because I love this time of year and I’m a big horror genre fan. However it wasn’t until I was thrown into Halloween in August that my love for the holiday really started. Disney just makes everything more special and magical which is why I’m missing it so much.

Nothing can beat stepping onto Main Street, seeing the castle ahead and the street being lined with pumpkins. Or those magic shots outside The Haunted Mansion where a ghost has joined you. There’s nothing like entering the Magic Kingdom on a party night and hearing those Halloween songs and experiencing your favourite rides with special lay overs for the holiday. Or trick or treating your way around the park. It’s magical, it’s chance to be a child again and live in a different world just for a bit.

I would recommend Disney at any time, but Disney at Halloween has to be done at least once. I have everything crossed that we’ll get to experience that magic once again for our honeymoon in a few years.

If you would like to see more of our Disney trip from 2018 then we vlogged the whole thing, including our time at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Have you ever visited Disney at Halloween? Tell me all about your trips in the comments!

It is my life dream to see Halloween at Disney. We absolutely love Halloween in our house and we did Disneyland Paris in May a few years ago and it was amazing! This post has just got me thinking about when we can go in October one year!

The Disney pumpkins are adorable! My parents have been to Florida over Halloween and said the decorations everywhere were insane – I’m not even that into Halloween but I would love to visit at this time of year! Becca x

This post makes me want to travel to Disney World! I’ve never seen photos during Halloween, and it looks incredible! I’ve never been to Disney World either, but after seeing this, I know I have to go when they start putting up the decorations for Halloween. 🎃

It is definitely in my bucket list to visit Disneyland during Halloween period. Last year I went in December so I managed to enjoy a bit of Christmas magic but I’m all about autumn and spooky vibes too!

What are you doing to me!!! I would do anything to go to Disney right now. Although I haven’t been to Disney World before, I was hoping to go back to DLP this year which obviously didn’t happen and now they’ve closed it again so Lord knows when I’ll be able to go back. I’ve not been during the Halloween season though and it looks like so much fun! These photos are great 🙂 I am very sad and jealous now so thank you xD xxx

We’d talked about going to Paris this year too as we’ve never done Disneyland but obviously we couldn’t. Hopefully we’ll both get our Disney fix soon.
