Lush Ultrabland facial cleanser review

25 August 2020 Comments : 18

Lush’s Ultrabland Cleanser is my holy grail product. Until this little pot of wonder came along I never believed in such things but it’s been an absolutely game changer for my skincare routine and if I could only ever recommend one skincare product, this would be it. So here’s my review of the Lush Ultrabland cleanser.

Tub of Ultrabland from Lush with the lid off

About Ultrabland

Lush’s Ultrabland (£9 for 45g, £17 for 100g or £30 for 225g) is my evening cleanser. However when my skin is super dry in the colder months I do sometimes use it morning and evening just to restore some balance.
Ultrabland is a super simple oil cleanser with only the simplest and best ingredients in it. For really problematic skin Lush recommend only using Ultrabland.

Ultrabland really fixes my skin problems. I find a have less spots and my skin doesn’t get tight and irritated when I use this. Any dry patches in the colder months are also less of a problem. In all it just really balances out my skin and makes it the best it can be and I love it.

Ultrabland ingredients: almond oil, rose water, beeswax, honey, fresh iris extract, glycerine, rose absolte, tincture of benzoin, methylparaben, propylparaben.

How to use Ultrabland

To use it I take a small amount and massage it between my fingers to warm it up before throughly massaging it into my face. I really take my time to work this into my skin and massage my face. To remove it I just use warm water and a flannel. As it’s quite a thick, oily formula you want to make sure you’re throughly removing it. It’s definitely not a case of splashing on some water and going to remove this.

It will leave a balmy texture on your face if you don’t removed it properly but then I think it encourages you to actually spend a decent bit of time cleaning your face because it’s definitely not a wash and go cleanser!

Tub of Ultrabland from Lush

The only cleanser for me

I got my first tub of Ultrabland for Christmas in 2017. I’d wanted to try the cleanser for a while and I was fed up of having dry, flaky and itchy skin with quite regular cystic spots (you know those, hard painful under skin spot that never get a head) on my chin and jaw. This cleanser literally transformed my skin and I was so shocked by how well it worked for me. My skin felt soft, wasn’t irritated, dry patches cleared up and those pesky spots became less and less frequent.

After about a year of using Ultrabland I made the stupid mistake of switching back to cheap hot cloth cleansers. It was a case of not having a Lush too close to me and needing to make some money cutbacks but I honestly regret that decision. Sometimes things are just worth spending that extra money on and this cleanser is one of those things!
Earlier this year I decided it was time to bring Ultrabland back into my life.

Since I went back to using Ultrabland in March this year I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skin. It’s gone back to being clear and glowing and it’s not irritated at all. In winter I tend to use this both morning and night but in the summer I use it just as my evening cleanse as it tends to be a little too oily for my liking for summer. I team it with another Lush cleanser, Angels on Bare Skin in the summer to keep my skin looking good.

I honestly believe everyone needs a tub of Ultrabland in their lives. When I say it’s changed my skin beyond belief I really mean it.

Have you tried Ultrabland from Lush. Let me know in the comments!

I have used a mask from Lush but have never tried any of their cleansers. I also have dry skin so this is good information to know.

I’m really not sure, sorry. You’d have to check availability of Lush products in India.

I have seen this in the store a few times while there picking up some of my favourite products (like my go-to bathbombs) but I haven’t actually given it a try yet. After reading this, I’m thinking that I need to pick it up and give it a try!

Oo. This sounds like an amazing cleanser, and I love that is packed with almond oil, beeswax, honey and rose water; all perfect for nourishing the skin. Will keep my eye out for it next time I go shopping! 🙂
Although I wonder if I could make my own? 🙂
