The book opens with Nora running through the woods in desperation, she’s injured and neither she or the reader seem to know what is happening. From that moment I was hooked. The novel then starts right at the beginning of Nora’s story, the moment she gets invited to Clare’s hen party. A woman who was once her teenage best friend until Nora walked away from everything. Against her better judgement, Nora accepts the invitation and heads off to the large cottage in the middle of the woods ready for a hen party weekend that will change everyone’s lives.
As I’ve mentioned, I was hooked from the very first page of this book. It completely drew me in without any effort. The books continued to build suspense and reveal more surprises even when you thought you knew everything, there was always something else to discover.
Nora and Clare’s lives and friendship unravel in spectacular fashion in this fast paced, suspense packed novel that makes you want to read to the end in one sitting. I’d say this is the perfect summer read – easy, enjoyable and action packed.
