Liverpool 2013 Part 2

Yesterday I posted part 1 of my Liverpool photo diary which you can see here if you missed it.

On our second day we fitted quite a lot of stuff in, after breakfast we headed to the World Museum, again we went there last year but if it’s your sort of thing I really recommend visiting. It’s free and there’s sooo much to see, it’s pretty amazing and you can easily spend hours in there as there’s so much to look at. After we’d finished in the museum we went to try and find a cafe I remember Olivia mentioning on her blog called Cuthbert’s Bakehouse again if you are visiting Liverpool (or live there) you should definitely go to Cuthbert’s, it’s a little out of the centre but not too far and it’s the cutest cafe selling amazing food and cakes. As much as I wanted to try a slice of cake I resisted as I’d had a big breakfast and I settled for a chocolate milkshake instead. Josh wasn’t overly impressed with the kitsch, girly interior but I liked it!

The afternoon was spent visiting the Metropolitan Cathedral and shopping. Neither of us are remotely religious but the Cathedral is at the end of the road where Cuthbert’s is so we figured it might be worth a look and I have to say personal views on religion aside it was a very beautiful Cathedral, it’s such an odd shape and the stained glass inside is very pretty. After visiting the Cathedral I did a little shopping although I didn’t actually buy all that much just a little bit of makeup and a new shirt. As the whether was really nice we decided to make the most of it even though our feet were killing from walking around all day and have a walk around the docks. The whole over Liverpool is really nice but there’s something about the docks that’s extra charming! After that we decided it was time for a much needed rest and the traditional afternoon drink in the Cavern.

At night we headed to a restaurant we visited last year, the Red Hot World Buffet. Again there’s a few branches of this around the country so if you’re ever near one you should definitely try it. There’s sooo much food to choose from that you get quite overwhelmed, but everything tastes so good. The rest of the evening was spent in the Cavern where we met the loveliest people ever as they ended up sharing a table with us. A lovely old woman had come out with her granddaughter and her granddaughter’s husband and she was the funniest woman ever! By the end of the night I was even dancing with her and her granddaughter. It was certainly a night to remember. 

On Thursday it was time to go home and the weather had turned a bit crappy at this point too so we just had one final little walk around, where I picked up some yummy American sweets, enjoyed a drink (and a shelter from the rain) in the Starbucks in the Beatles museum, then we headed home.

Even though we’ve been to Liverpool loads we still had such an amazing time, in fact I might even go as far as to say it’s one of the best times we’ve had there!
