November went by in an absolute blur, self employment has just been crazier than I could have ever imagined! To be honest, this whole year has gone by at lightening speed. It’s quite scary. November was all about working hard and letting some festivness creep in . I just love this time of year! So let’s take a look back at November!

1. November was actually my first full month being self employed, and let me tell you, it was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. I had my first real moment of ‘I can’t do this, I’ve totally made the wrong decision’ and that was scary. But do you know what, two weeks later I had a week where I felt the most relaxed and content with self employment that I’ve felt so far. My little brain is struggling to process all the emotions right now! But I’ve decided I definitely need to give myself way more credit than what I do so as November drew to a close, I went out and had a few gins to celebrate having a much more successful first full month of self employment than I could have imagined!
2. November is the start of Snow Fairy season for me. I’ve been a huge fan of Lush’s Snow Fairy for many years now and there’s nothing more satifying than cracking out a fresh bottle of shower gel and spray to mark the start of the festive season. It’s just the best! I know it’s not a traditional Christmas scent but it really does scream Christmas to me as I only use it at this time of year!
3. Of course the Christmas nails had to start in November. I love my current green glitter and snow flakes design and I’ll be sneaking in one more festive set before the year is out. I’m thinking something gold and red for a bit more of a tradtional feel. I’ve said it many times but going for my nails doing is absolutely one of my favourite forms of self care. There’s nothing nicer than fresh nails!
4. In November I really wanted to make a conscious effort to have a better balance with work and free time. That was the whole reason for going self employed but I know that won’t come immediately. However I did have some free time that I really loved. I had a lovely weekend with my mum and her partner where we went out for drinks and I stayed over at their house then we went shopping the next day. It was so good to go out. I’m definitely a homebody but now I work from home, a change of scenery is good. Plus it was nice to get dressed up rather than wearing joggers and a sweatshirt for a change!
5. One thing that really got me in the Christmas spirit was visiting York at the end of the month with my husband. It’s the first time since quitting my job that I’ve just taken a random day off in the week and gone to do something! Now that is the self employed life I am working towards! I’m not going to lie after 10 years of working in education and being tied to weekends it felt good sitting in a cosy pub with a mulled wine on a Monday! York was lovely as always and it was so good to spend some quality time together. My husband is also self employed but this time of year is crazy busy for him so we don’t get to see each other much. It was nice for us both to switch off for the day!
Of course, December is now here and it really is my favourite month. I’ve already shared my December plans if you want to take a look. It’s going to be a very different December to what I’ve been used to which is slightly scary but I’m sure I’ll get through it with plenty of festive cheer and maybe one or two meltdowns!
Keep an eye out for some more Christmassy content over here and catch up on any pieces you may have missed. Christmas content is my absolute favourite to produce so I hope you all enjoy it this year!
What did you get up to in November? Do you have any plans for December? Let me know in the comments!
