Disney World’s Hollywood Studios: 2018 photos

22 November 2019 Leave a Comment

We took a lot of beautiful photos on our 2018 Florida holiday that are just sat on the computer so I thought I’d share them with you so they can be seen in all their glory and appreciated by everyone! There are a lot of photos so there’s going to be a fair few posts like this, I’m going to aim to do one a week until I’m out of photos to share! I’ll be doing one park at a time and today I’m on to Hollywood Studios. Hope you enjoy this series.
For our last trip to Florida we only planned one day at Hollywood Studios. When we visited there weren’t many attractions open and Galaxy’s Edge was still a year away from opening which is why we decided on just the one day in this park. Unfortunately on the day we went it rained for the whole day. Now I don’t mind walking around in the Florida rain too much as the heat in August soon dries you out. But it just didn’t stop all day and there becomes a point when walking around in the rain, even in a Disney park, is no longer fun.
Because of the horrible weather we took advantage of the indoor Star Wars meet and great area which also had lots of stuff to look at too. Despite the rain we weren’t queuing for too long and we got to meet three characters which was pretty good going!
The rain and clouds definitely gave one of our favourite rides, The Tower of Terror a more ominous feel too which was good. We also headed to the then blocked off entrance to Galaxy’s Edge too. This section of the park is of course now open but it’ll be another few years before we get to visit.
Sadly, the rain did mean we didn’t get to fully enjoy the newly opened Toy Story Land. There isn’t a lot of shelter in this part of the park so we couldn’t fully appreciate it as we were getting a little fed up of the rain by this point. Slinky Dog Dash also closed down in the rain too much to my disappointment. I suppose it’s a good excuse to go back to Disney though!
Even though we got very wet on our trip to Hollywood Studios, we still enjoyed it. So much will have changed in this park by the time we make it back to Florida in a few years so I can’t wait to spend some more time there experiencing all the new things.
I hope you enjoyed my photo diary of Hollywood Studios, I’ll be moving on to a different park next week. I have posts coming up from all 6 Disney World parks as well as Universal Resort’s 3 parks, Disney Springs and Discovery Cove. We vlogged our whole Florida 2018 holiday so I highly recommend checking those videos out too.
What’s your favourite part of Hollywood Studios? Let me know in the comments.
