A Trip to York 2014 #2

19 April 2014 Leave a Comment

In my last York post I left it at the point of having had a relaxed morning in the park and a little wander around. After all this we headed to the York Castle Museum, we’ve been there quite a few times but there’s so much to look at in there and we really enjoy it. We also decided to visit the National Railway Museum seen as it’s free and we’ve never been there together.
Quite a few selfies were taken with various display at the museum! Of course my favourite exhibition was the 1960’s one. Some of the trains at the railway museum were huge which just made me look even smaller!
After all the wandering about it was of course time for a trip to the pub before heading back and getting ready to go out at night. We decided to go for an Indian and it was so nice, one of the best Indian’s I’ve had. In all day two in York was pretty perfect, if not a little tiring.

On our last half a day in York we explored the walls some more, I can’t believe that in all the times we’ve been to York we’ve never properly walked on the walls!
As we came off the walls we found these cute little fluffy goslings and this perfect view of Cliffords Tower. Before heading home we had a look in the shops, enjoyed a huge hog roast sandwich and of course had one final little drink in our favourite pub. Oh and we even found a Christmas shop…
…So of course I had to go in even if there is another 8 months until Christmas!
Our York trip was the perfect little mini break and just what we both needed.
