I love reading but I’m also pretty passionate about wax melts. There’s nothing I love more than having a nice-smelling, cosy home. But hold on, if you were to combine books and wax melts to create amazing smelling, unique bookish wax melts then you would certainly have my attention. What’s better than an afternoon curled up on the sofa with a blanket, a good book, a coffee and a gorgeous scent drifting through your home? Nothing, that’s what! Well, that’s exactly what Shelfaware has done! Say hello to the most beautiful wax melt bars for literary lovers.

I just want to start with a little disclaimer before we get into the good stuff. I was kindly gifted these wax melts to feature over on my Cozy Vibes With Lauren Instagram with no obligation to write about them here. However, they just fit so well with my autumnal content over here that I just couldn’t resist sharing them.
Who Are Shelfaware?
Shelfaware is run by Lottie who spent nine years as a secondary school English teacher but made the decision not to return to the classroom for a fresh school year in 2024 in search of a better work-life balance. Instead, Lottie channelled her love for literature into creating some different and with the help of her partner she decided to learn how to make her own wax melt mould containing the best literary quotes out there.
I started following Shelfaware on Instagram before the wax melts had even launched and I was struck by the beautiful, bookish vibes but when I heard Lottie’s story it really resonated with me. As someone who also worked in education for 10 years and gave it all up in search of something better, it was great to see someone else chasing their dreams and with a product that spoke to me. It’s safe to say I was hooked on following Lottie and Shelfaware’s journey!
When Lottie reached out and asked if I wanted to try out some of the wax melts it was an easy yes! And they didn’t disappoint.
The Wax Melts
All of Shelfaware’s wax melts are made from a rapeseed and coconut blend. They are palm oil free, vegan friendly and have no nasty additives. For those of you with pets like me, coconut wax is one of the most pet-friendly wax compositions alongside soy due to its natural properties.
Currently, there is an autumn and a Halloween range available on the website but there’s a Christmas collection launching soon too. I’ll be sure to update this section as and when the collections change. All of the bars are available in incredible scents that use premium cruelty-free fragrance oils.
So far in my experience, I’m finding that I can get two melts out of one section of the snap bar which I’m happy with. The melt pools for the bars are so pretty too, and very shimmery which I like!
The thing with the Shelfaware snap bars is they look beautiful but they’ve come up with a solution for those who think they’re too pretty to melt. They’ve created their very own wax melt stand so the bars can be displayed. They’d look amazing on a bookcase or bookshelf!
I honestly cannot wait to see what’s next for this little company and the sneak peeks of the Christmas items that Lottie has been revealing over on Instagram have me very excited.
