We’re officially into my favourite time of the year – the ‘ber’ months. I just love the cosy feeling of autumn and it’s my favourite time to create content too. I’ve already had a few autumnal themed posts go live and there’s plenty more to come! September was a bumper month, so it’s a two photo collage kinda month too! So get comfy and let’s recap September.

September was such a lovely month for me I’m really having to focus on having some sort of order to this Happy List so everything doesn’t spill out in one big jumble. I feel like it’s really set the tone for my favourite time of year and I really hope the rest of the year is just as wonderful.
1. September was all about getting in the autumn mood. Hot baths, autumn scented wax melts and a few Halloween things here and there with this years Disney Halloween pin and my brilliant new flashing Disney Halloween tumbler! I made an order from my favourite wax melt place, Mr David Made At Home and bought the full autumn collection and it certainly hasn’t disappointed. Every bar smells so good.
2. I started book quote journaling in August, nothing fancy I just have a couple of little field notes books to jot down book quotes in and few stickers to decorate the pages. My mum bought me a cute little black cat band to save the page in my journal. It’s something I’m really enjoying when I find the time to do it though.
3. For someone who loves autumn as much as me, I have a confession. Until this month I’d never had a pumpkin spice latte! Shocking I know! I know they’re a bit like Marmite but I actually really liked it and I feel like I can call myself a true autumn lover now. I’ve had two this month and I’ll be seeking out PSL’s every year from now on.
4. In-keeping with autumn I had to start with autumn nail designs didn’t I? The first set was a burnt orange and gold leopard print design that you can see above and the second set was a autumnal toned moon and star design that you can see below. This second set may be one of my favourite designs to date.

5. I made an autumn reading list for myself at the end of August and in September I managed to read 6 books from it! That’s actually really good for me as I usually average 2-3 books a month but I’ve really been enjoying my autumn reading list. I haven’t done a book review post on here in around a year but I am going to do some for my autumn reading list and the first part will be going live this week. I’ve even bought some autumn and Halloween stickers for my journal so I can do some pages dedicated to my autumnal reads.
6. I’ve been trying to get out for more walks and towards the end of September things were definitely starting to look and feel more autumnal. I love walking when there’s sun and blue skies but the air is crisp and fresh. The autumnal changes made for some lovely photos too.
7. I saved the biggest and best news until last! Back in July I mentioned that my wedding blog, The Thrifty Bride, had been nominated for a Yorkshire Blogger Award. Last year was the first year of the YBA’s and my wedding blog was nominated and won in the finance category. This year I was actually nominated in the wedding category so it felt even more special. The awards were on the last day of the month and it really ended September with a bang for me because I only went and won! The Thrifty Bride is now a double award winning blog. I was so shocked and overwhelmed, I was up against two wedding planners so for my little blog to have won is actually incredible.
So that was September. What a month. I’m still on a high from winning at the Yorkshire Blogger Awards and I’m very much looking forward to what October brings. October is my joint favourite month with December and as well as Halloween and all the spooky stuff I love to look forwards to, we’re also having a new kitchen which is very exciting.
What did you get up to in September? Let me know in the comments!

Congrats on the reading! I read a lot and I love it, it’s an escape for me.
It’s definitely and escape for me too, I just don’t normally manage to read this many books in one month!
Congratulations on the award Lauren, what an amazing achievement! I’ve never tried a PSL but I hope to try one this autumn too x
Thank you so much! I’m hooked on PSL’s now!
Congratulations on the win! Sounds like a busy Autumn but hopefully a cosy one.
Thank you! It’s certainly busy but hopefully much cosier once the kitchen renovation is complete!

Thank you, I’ve definitely made a big dint in it!
I love the autumnal nails, very cool. And congratulations on trying your first pumpkin spice latte – now it is probably officially only me in the whole country who has never tried a latte, let alone a pumpkin spiced one π I love the smell of coffee, but it tastes yuck.
Congratulations on winning the Yorkshire Blog Award for the wedding category, thatβs incredible!! Very well deserved π₯³ π
Caz xx
Thank you so! Hahaha coffee smells amazing I agree but it does taste pretty nice too!
Congratulations on your award and I really admire you for reading 6 books! Maybe I should start reading more these days. Last month, I was able to decide what color motif I should use for my blog and started changing everything.
Thank you! Picking colours out for your blog is fun but an important part of your branding too!
