There’s nothing I enjoy more during Blogmas than completing a tag post. They’re seriously old school but super fun to do so a big thanks to Katie for tagging me in this one! I’d actually decided not to write myself any goals or resolutions this year but I’ll give this a go!

As I’ve mentioned, I normally set myself some goals for the year which I keep to myself then reflect on them in my end of year round up posts. Mental health wise this hasn’t been working out too well for me this last couple of years as I’ve had a list of goals in my notes and barely achieved any of them. The last couple of years have been a real struggle, pandemic aside there’s been lots of other stuff I’ve struggled with too. Comparison, not feeling like I’m where I should be and feeling like a bit of a failure have all been thrown into the mix and have been exacerbated by the many things life has thrown my way over recent years. Not achieving the goals I’ve imposed on myself has only made me feel worse.
As I did want to take part in this tag though I’ve decided to set myself a few less stricter goals. There’s no real specifics so hopefully anything achieved towards them will be a win!
If you’d like to take part in this tag then here are the rules:
- Thank the person who tagged you.
- Write your goals for next year
- Write how you’re going to achieve these goals
- Tag at least 5 blogger friends
- This last one is optional, but in 365 days, write a post about whether or not you’ve been successful!
Goals for the next year and how I’ll achieve them
Home – complete at least three jobs in the house no matter how big or small. There’s a whole bunch of things I’d like to do to our house but this is something I’ve failed at each year as I write a long specific job of all the things I’d like to get done and then don’t get any of them ticked off. So I’m going with three jobs without tying myself to anything and we’ll see what happens!
Money – I’d like to have a good amount of savings in a years time. I’d also like to increase how much I make from blogging. Even if it’s only £10 more than this year! I’m pretty good at saving so I’m just going to stick to what I know for this one.
Blogging – I’d like to be more consistent over both of my blogs. My wedding blog has took a real hit recently and I’ve felt a bit lost with it. So I want to bring it back better than ever. On the flip side I want to create a simple schedule that I can actually stick too and allows me some free time. I love blogging but it isn’t my full time job and because I love it so much it’s easy for me to spend a lot of time on it but then I come to resent it when I can’t complete everything I’ve set myself. It’s silly really! So I want a schedule that fits around my job and life.
Self – there’s a lot of things I’d like to work on when it comes to myself. My self confidence, the ability to go and do things on my own without other people, my absolute toxic treat of comparing what I have and my life to everyone else. I’m hoping 2022 is the year I can tackle some of these things head on. I don’t have a plan for achieving this just yet.
Wedding – as some of you know I got married earlier this year. We have hundreds of photos from the day both from our photographer and the photo booth we hired. They’re currently just stuck on the computer so next year I want to sort through them and get some printed and framed and create a wedding photo book too. This really isn’t a big one, I just need to get my butt in gear and stop putting it off.
I’ve decided not to tag anyone as I know these posts aren’t for everyone but if you’re reading this post and would like to complete the tag yourself it would be great if you could give me a little mention!
I’ll be back with the other part to this post in a years time to see how I got on!

Great goals for next year! I also plan on setting out a simple schedule so I can manage both of my blogs effectively. And of course I’d love to earn a little more from my blogs and be on my way to making it my full time job.
That’s a great goal to have!
You’ve got some great goals for next year! I myself have similar goals to yourself. Fingers crossed we’ll both achieve them by next year. Thank you so much for sharing this with us lovely Xo

Fingers crossed! Good luck with your goals.
Good tagging game. And you have good goals for 2022. All the best for next year. XoXo.
Thank you!
This is so motivational. I’ve been in a slump recently and today has been my first ‘bones’ day in about two weeks. It’s great to read all the wonderful things you plan for the new year and it’s giving me a much-needed push.
Thank you so much! I hope 2022 is great for you.
I don’t love setting New Years resolutions but I have really enjoyed reading this tag. I love that you haven’t made your goals too specific, no one wants to fail! I hope 2022 is amazing for you x
Thank you! That was the aim with this as I’m not a big fan of New Years resolutions either.
Good luck Lauren, I used to make big goals but it’s better for me if I stick to smaller manageable goals. Hope you have a lovely Christmas x
Thank you! I’m hoping this works out better for me and I feel happier with my goal setting. Being kind to myself over achieving any other goal this year is what’s important to me.
