AD – this product was gifted to me but all thoughts are my own.
If you own a cat you’ll know how important it is to have cat scratchers dotted around the house. Not only do they deter your cats from scratching your furniture but they’re actually really great for your cats health too. From keeping their claws in shape to reducing stress. It’s essential that cats can have multiple places where they can scratch without worry! Today I have a review of a scratching post that both you and your cat will love!

First off let me say just how difficult it was to get these photos. Treats were definitely used as bribery to get them to co-operate. Not that they minded getting treats of course!
Anyway onto the scratch post review. Both of our cats are indoor cats, they always have been. We know how important it is to provide even more stimulation for indoor cats and as such it’s safe to say our home will never win any prizes in the show home category. You’ll find cat toys, tunnels, tents and scratching posts and boxes all over our house. As long as our two cats are happy though we’re totally O.K. with that!
When I was first offered a Catipilla cat scratcher I have to admit I was sceptical. Catipilla scratchers attach to your wall so they don’t have a base and aren’t free standing like traditional scratch posts. As I’ve mentioned we have a fair amount of cat related paraphernalia around the house and I was kind of worried that a scratch post attached to the wall would look unsightly. Given that it was a type of scratcher I’d never come across though I was willing to give it a try!

I could not have been more wrong with my initial worries about the scratch post. We chose to attach it to one of our living room walls as it’s where the cats spend the most time. We had a cat scratching tree where the Catipilla scratcher now is and we chose to get rid of it as it had seen better days and the cats have actually had quite a few new things lately. So alongside the cat scratching post we totally revamped a little area for them! We went with the 50cm scratcher and it’s perfect. It doesn’t look out of place and certainly doesn’t look ugly like I first worried it would. I’m not going to lie I’m a little jealous of the cosy set up they’ve got going on now.

The scratcher is really sturdy and definitely seems to be holding up against the vigorous use it’s getting multiple times a day. Both cats are using it loads and seem to be loving it. One cat scratches quite a lot and they other one is the bigger of our two cats so can easily wear things out and the post hasn’t shed any of the fibres from the rope and still looks pretty good. It’s been up over two weeks now as well so I’m very impressed!
It was super easy to put up, it took less than 10 minutes. I love that you can get replacements too. We’ll definitely be getting another when this one has been worn out. Now we have a Catipilla scratcher I can definitely see the benefits of having a scratch post that attaches to the wall. I lost count of how many times to scratch tree fell over with the cats were running around. Also the shorter posts just on a base are pretty useless for our bigger cat because they move around too much when he tries to scratch so it’s been really nice to see him enjoying this post.

If you have a cat then I highly recommend the Catipilla cat scratcher. We’ve had our fair share of scratchers over the four years we’ve had our cats and we’ll definitely be getting another one of these in the future.
Have you tried the Catipilla cat scratcher before? Let me know in the comments!

You’re right. It is important to have them around and apparently my cat is sending me the message that I don’t have enough. I’m glad to here this one hasn’t shed, and you have two cats using it. That’s a biggie for me as I have enough little messes to tend to already.
I can imagine! It’s a really great scratcher, well worth trying out.
Great product.
Would definitely give a try for my cat.
It’s a great cat scratcher.
This sounds like a great product! We love scratching posts around our house. My one cat, in particular, is super playful and will get herself into trouble scratching on the wrong things if we don’t have an alternative available to her… Like your house, we have pet-related stuff all over and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I’ll definitely look into this a little closer!
Oh yes my two are the same!
Aw this is so cute! The pics with the cats in them are an added bonus ๐ your black cat reminds me of my cat!
Thank you so much! He’s a very handsome boy ( well I think so anyway!)
Currently I don’t hava a cat, but your cats are adorable (especially the black one๐ค)!
Really beautiful animals and great post!
Oh thank you so much!
