Universal Studios: 2018 photos #1

6 March 2020 Leave a Comment

We took a lot of beautiful photos on our 2018 Florida holiday that are just sat on the computer so I thought I’d share them with you so they can be seen in all their glory and appreciated by everyone! There are a lot of photos so there’s going to be a fair few posts like this, I’m going to aim to do one a week until I’m out of photos to share! I’ll be doing one park at a time and today I’m on to Universal Studios. Hope you enjoy this series.
On our last trip to Florida we debated whether in the future we’d bother with the Universal Resort as there aren’t as many rides there that we enjoy but with the opening of Volcano Bay and the fact we loved our Universal days in 2018 I think we’ll still continue to visit! After all, I love the Harry Potter stuff and The Mummy is one of our favourite ever rides. We had some really great moments at Universal on our last visit.
Going at the end of August meant it was a little quieter than our previous trip when we went in the middle of August and we were able to get on a lot of the rides quite quickly and in some cases we were coming off then instantly getting back in the queue which made for a really fun few trips!
Although neither of us really like The Simpson’s ride, we do like a stroll through Springfield and a stop at Moe’s for a nice cold Duff Beer which we find a nice way to cool down and take a moment out of the day.
Of course as I’ve mentioned my favourite thing about both Universal parks is the Harry Potter areas and Universal Studios in my opinion has the better ride option (though that could change when I get to ride Hagrid’s over in IOA) because I love Escape from  Gringotts. We actually chose to ride it single rider on our last visit and it meant we got on super quick, so quick in fact we rejoined the single rider queue and went on again! We go two rides in less time than it would have taken us to queue for one ride!
I don’t think we’ll give up our trips to Universal as even though we like more rides at Disney, the rides we like at the Universal parks are up there with some of our absolute favourites.
I hope you enjoyed my photo diary of Universal Studios, part two will be coming next week. I have posts from all 6 Disney World parks as well as Universal Resort’s 3 parks, Disney Springs and Discovery Cove. We vlogged our whole Florida 2018 holiday so I highly recommend checking those videos out too.
What’s your favourite part of Universal Studios? Let me know in the comments.
