10 things to watch on Disney+ right now!

It's the day every Disney fan has been waiting for, Disney+ has finally launched in the U.K. and it couldn't have come at a better time. At this moment we all need a bit of light relief and magic in our lives and with many people working from home or self isolating then it's the perfect time to get acquainted with the magical streaming service.

10 things to watch on Disney+ right now

Upon launch Disney+ has more than 500 films, 350 TV series and 26 Disney+ originals, so how are you supposed to pick what to watch first?! I mean of course if you're like me you 'll be planning on working your way through the entire catalogue but you have to start somewhere and with so much choice I've narrowed it down to my top 10 picks of what to watch right now on Disney+.

I should just add a note to say some shows will only be showing one episode a week much to the dismay of many binge watchers but there's absolutely nothing to stop you from making a start on them!

The Madalorian

Many of you will be aware of The Mandalorian and the extreme cuteness of Baby Yoda (or The Child) seen as America has already had Disney+ for 4 months. But I for one cannot wait to see more Baby Yoda memes now the show has made it to the U.K. (I honestly live for them!)
Set five years after The Reuturn of the Jedi, The Mandalorian follows the title character, a lone wolf, and his exploits around the galaxy.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Another one for the Star Wars fans and one that's been long awaited by many people. The Clone Wars began all the way back in 2008 and had a massive success with 6 seasons in total. Many fans were disappointed when it was announced in 2013 that the show would be winding down. Luckily though Disney have seen sense and decided to bring it back for one final series so it can end in a way fans deserve!

Mickey Mouse (shorts)

These are exactly what the title suggests. Short episodes around 4 minutes in length focusing on Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto. The animation is incredible and while the shorts have the same slapstick feel of the early shorts they've been given a modern update. The humour is perfect for kids and adults and there's definitely stuff in there that adults will appreciate! They're great for just sticking on and watching when you need a laugh and a bit of escapism (and don't we all need that right now?!)

Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings

Who doesn't love a bit of feel good TV?! The show provides a look at couples and their Disney themed weddings at Disney locations around the world. I genuinely can't wait to get stuck into this. We were due to get married this year and there's a very real chance it won't go ahead now. Although we sadly won't be marrying at Disney we are having a Disney themed wedding so I'm just going to have to live through this show for now!

The Imagineering Story

This is definitely one for the people like us who love to see what goes on behind the scenes at Disney. The series focuses on the history and creation of the Disney theme parks and attractions around the world. So much goes into Disney theme parks and I can't wait to watch this. As we all know the Disney parks are closed for the foreseeable but this will be a way to get a little bit of the Disney park magic back.

One Day at Disney

You're in for a treat with this one! Not only is this a feature length film following the lives of employees across The Walt Disney Company but there are also 52 short episodes as well. Josh got me the book the accompanies this series for Christmas and it's beautiful. We've both been really excited to watch this ever since we first saw the trailer for it.

The Pixar Shorts

I absolutely love the Pixar shorts and now every single one of them is available to watch on Disney+. Much like the Mickey Mouse shorts they're just something easy to stick on and watch and they're often very heartwarming which is perfect when you need a little pick-up.

Disney Tangled: The Series

Tangled is one of our favourite ever movies and I've seen lots of stuff from the series over the years so I can't wait to finally watch it. I definitely need more Pascal in my life right now and I think the series will be a great compliment to my favourite Disney princess movie.

The World According to Jeff Goldblum

Who doesn't love Jeff Goldblum?! The series sees him taking on many topics from video games to tattoos to ice-cream and chatting with experts and influencers with knowledge in these areas. Whilst I can't see the show being overly educational I think there'll be a fun and quirky twist thanks to its host.

Forky Asks a Question

Hands down one of the best Pixar characters is Forky from Toy Story 4. In this new series the lovable spork tackles questions people may not know the answer to and gets his Toy Story friends to help him. While the questions such as 'what is love?' or 'what is a friend?' seem very much aimed at children and providing them with an understanding to some of life's questions, I do think Forky's wit will make adults love this too.

So there you have it, 10 things to watch on Disney+ right now. Let's face it guys, we all know the best and most sensible thing to do right now is stay at home and Disney just made that even easier for us all. So get comfy and get some Disney magic in your lives.
