After a break over December my Florida photos diaries are back!
We took a lot of beautiful photos on our 2018 Florida holiday that are just sat on the computer so I thought I’d share them with you so they can be seen in all their glory and appreciated by everyone! There are a lot of photos so there’s going to be a fair few posts like this, I’m going to aim to do one a week until I’m out of photos to share! I’ll be doing one park at a time and today I’m on to Islands of Adventure. Hope you enjoy this series.
On our last trip to Florida we debated whether to in the future we’d bother with the Universal Resort as there aren’t as many rides there that we enjoy but with the opening of Volcano Bay and the fact we loved our Universal days in 2018 I think we’ll still continue to visit! Islands of Adventure is home to some amazing rides and areas. For the Harry Potter part it houses the Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade then of course there’s the Jurassic Park area and the Hulk rollercoaster, which I still haven’t plucked up the courage to go on. Maybe next time!
We actually only did two days at the Universal parks but we split both days across both parks so it definitely felt like enough time for us.
Before we went on our first Florida holiday together in 2015, we watched a lot of ride videos and the Jurassic Park ride was one of the first ones we watched. Josh also had a lot to say about the ride seen as he’d been to Florida before. It’s honestly one of my favourite rides and even Josh, who isn’t a big fan of water rides, loves its!
I’m excited to see what’s to come for the area seen as new ride is being built. I just hope it’s as good as the one that’s already there!
Of course the big reason why I love the Universal parks is for the Harry Potter areas. They’re so well themed and highly immersive. Unfortunately I’m not a huge fan of the ride in Islands of Adventure, Forbidden Journey, as it makes me feel sick and I don’t like how far the ride vehicle tips back! Hogsmeade is amazing to walk around though and I am a big fan of the frozen Butterbeer!
I don’t think we’ll give up our trips to Universal as even though we like more rides at Disney, the rides we like at the Universal parks are up there with some of our absolute favourites.
