I’ve spoken before on here, a few years ago now, about why I love Christmas. So I thought now quite a long time has passed, I’d revisit the topic. For me there isn’t one particular thing that I love more than anything else during the festive season. It’s the whole package that I’m in love with. Christmas has always been my favourite time of the year for as long as I can remember and as I’ve got older this hasn’t changed. In fact I’d go as far as to say since Josh and I moved in together last year, I’ve fallen even more in love with the festive period, there is absolutely nothing better than spending my favourite time of the year with the person I love.
I just love the run up to it all, for me the day is over too quick, but the run up? That’s easily the best part. All those nights spent watching festive films in the glow of the tree lights, hanging that first Christmas decoration on your tree, sipping Baileys, visiting Christmas markets. Everything just feels so much better in December. I love taking the time to plan out everyone’s gifts then wrapping them whilst listening to Christmas music and finally enjoying the feeling of giving presents to everyone. I love my routine of indulging in a huge bath with a Lush bath bomb then getting into fluffy pj’s and watching a Christmas movie. That sound of a bottle of fizz opening as I fill up my plate with yet more party food. The look on Josh’s face as he opens up his presents then finally snuggling up at the end of it all with full bellies and contented hearts.
So as the days quickly pass by I’ll be making the most of those last few magical moments and remembering how happy this month makes me and secretly I’ll already be looking forwards to doing it all again next year.
