Happy List: April 2022

18 May 2022 Comments : 10

Better late than never right? I’ve said it almost every month but I’m just slacking with blogging, it’s not my main priority now and I’m sure the spark will come back at some point but there’s a part of me that can’t miss the monthly Happy Lists! So here are my monthly ramblings for April.

1. The month got off to a great start when we finally went to see The Lion King. We’ve been waiting two years for this as we were supposed to go in 2020 but thanks to the first lockdown it got postponed then they decided to move it to 2022. It was well worth the two year wait though, what an absolutely fantastic and moving show. We both loved every second of it.

2. Our good friend David (of Mr David and Mr Ian – the fantastic YouTube channel) started making his own wax melts. I absolutely love wax melts but it’s not often I find ones that hit the right spot for me as I like a super strong scent throw. Our living room opens straight up onto our staircase so with everything being so open plan it’s easy to not get a strong scent but I’m utterly blown away by the melts I’ve tried from David so far (an I promise I’m not just saying that because he’s my friend!). Anyway his Etsy store is currently closed until June but when he reopens I’ll be grabbing some more and I think I may even do a review on here.

3. April of course meant Easter which also meant I got a week off work. We spent the Easter bank holiday going for some day drinks with my mum and her partner and had a really good time. We went to a couple of new pubs that Josh and I have never been to before too.

4. In slightly more adult news, we started looking for a new kitchen. I know this is a super adult thing and might seem boring to some of you but I can’t telly you how excited I am. I absolutely hate our kitchen and we’ve been living with it for almost 6 years now so to finally be able to start making plans for a new one is really exciting me. We’re currently having a couple of designs made up so hopefully I’ll be able to share more soon!

5. I made quite an expensive purchase in April and splashed out on an Apple Watch. When I say this is a purchase I’ve been considering for around a year though, I’m not exaggerating, so it definitely wasn’t a impulse buy. I don’t think I’ve ever bought myself something quite as expensive but as I say it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a long time now and I’m very happy I finally took the plunge.

What did you get up to in April? Let me know in the comments!

I’d love to know what you think of your Apple watch Lauren, I’ve always wanted one but I don’t want to splurge too much on a watch! x

For me it’s been a great investment for fitness. I’m currently working with an online personal trainer and my workout app links up to my watch so it’s been really good for that.

It sounds like you had a great April! Your cats in the pictures are super cute and I’d LOVE to see The Lion King – it’s one of my favourite films, so I’m always on the look out for it! I’m glad you had a good Easter too. Thank you so much for sharing x

I really love the idea of a ‘happy list’ as it’s such a nice way to see the good, joyous and celebratory aspects of our lives. Congrats on all the things you found brought you happiness; I hope May is much the same for you!

I have seen a couple of people share posts like this and what a great way of memorising fun, positive and happy things that have happened.
A new kitchen sounds really exciting, good luck in your search.
I currently have a Fitbit Versa as that was a cheaper option that an Apple Watch. I have wanted an Apple Watch for a while, especially as it has that fall feature. I would be interested to know your experience of the Apple Watch. Thank you for sharing your happy list. I hope you are having a great May so far.

I’ve been writing these lists in some form since I started my blog 11 years ago, they’re my absolute favourite thing to write.
Honestly I have zero regrets about buying the Apple Watch, while it is very expensive (I bought the Apple Watch SE which is the cheapest version, but still a lot of money) it’s been great for me fitness wise as it links up to an app I use with a personal trainer too.
