Well hello! I only went and missed January’s Happy List didn’t I? I actually cannot remember the last time I missed a monthly Happy List in recent years. It was totally unintentional but there was a lot going off in January and the further into the month it got the more pointless in seemed to do the post so I didn’t. I also missed my January book review post as well. Oopps. But I’m back now with more life ramblings from the past month!

The truth is I’ve kinda neglected this blog since wrapping up Blogmas. This always happens as I feel so uninspired in the early months of a year and I’ll be honest, I’m struggling with the blog at the moment with content, engagement, actually finding time to spend on it around my job, my second blog and having a life. It’s all a little crazy but I’m sure I’ll figure something out.
So let’s get on to what actually happened in February!
1. My reading (much like everything else) has been really up and down so far this year. But I have a brand new Kindle now and it’s honestly great. Nothing great beats reading an actual, physical book but I love the convenience of a Kindle and I’ve had one for many years now. My previous model was getting a little old though so I’m very happy with the upgrade!
2. We had a few really fun nights out in February which we really enjoyed. We even went out for Valentine’s night, something we’ve never done. Which considering this was our 15th Valentine’s Day together is a little bit mad!
3. I’ve been hard at work over on my wedding blog and I’ve even given it a small makeover. I switched up the colour scheme and the logo for both the blog and Instagram and I’m much happier with how it’s looking. It much better reflects the blog now. The truth is I’d love to have more time to dedicate to my wedding blog. Even though I can feel a little lost over here sometimes for the most part I know what I enjoy and I know what works. After all I’ve had this blog for 11 years now. The Thrifty Bride will be 3 years old this summer and I feel like I just don’t have to time to help it reach it’s true potential. One day maybe!
4. I had a week off work which is always welcome. This is when I spent some time making over my second blog but for the most part I just relaxed and enjoyed not having to do anything. We went out for lunch one day too which was really nice. My husband has a new job which he’s really being putting a lot of work into so it was nice to get some quality time together.
5. I dyed my hair pink! I had a rose pink toner which I ordered months back when I had my hair dyed blonder and I’d never plucked up the courage to use it so during my week off I gave it a go and instantly fell in love. The cotton candy shade was a little tame though so I want ahead and bought some Directions hair dye and I have zero regrets about my bright pink hair! I’ve never felt more like myself!
So that was February and overall it was a pretty great month. Here’s to no more missing Happy Lists this year!
What did you get up to in February? Let me know in the comments!

We’re glad you had a good month overall. Love the pink hair!!
Thank you so much!
Time off work is always needed now and then! It’s good that you managed to get some quality time with your husband x

Thanks! It definitely is!
I love your pink hair so much! My sister just dip-dyed her hair pink and I’m starting to want to do the same. I’m in a bit of a reading slump at the moment, but I love seeing what you are reading on Instagram 🙂 x
Thank you! I’m absolutely loving my pink hair!
I’ve finally finished reading a book that is been attempting to read for weeks, I’m so behind with my Goodreads target, but I started off to well x
I’m really slow with my reading challenge this year too!
Your pink hair looks fab, if I had lighter hair I’d love to try something like that. Last month the most exciting thing I did was test drive a car, that was fun. x
Thank you! That sounds fun!
Sounds like you had a nice February! Totally feel you with the lack of motivation at the beginning of the year too. Great that you’ve been getting a lot of reading done on your new kindle too!
Thanks! I don’t think the motivation has returned yet haha!
Sounds like you had an amazing February! I hope it continues on and you have a great march too. I love the fact you dyed your hair pink, I’m loving it’s made you feel yourself. Thank you so much for sharing, this positive post put a smile on my face Xo

Thank you so much!
I really struggled to get back into the swing of blogging things at the start of the year too. I feel like I only really found my stride again in the last week or two which is crazy. I got a new kindle for Christmas and it made such a huge impact on my reading!
I’d be lost without my Kindle. I’m still trying to get back into the swing of it, I have a funny relationship with my blog these days!
February was a short but packed month for you, lauren! Loving the pink – from a fellow pink hair lover, when I went full-on pink and my family wasn’t as elated as I was at my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary HA!
Haha, oh well as long as you liked it that’s all that matters!
I always struggle for content at the start of the year too. I love your pink hair. I bought something similar but haven’t plucked up the courage to do it yet.
Thank you! I can’t get enough of it, it’s the best decision I made!
I really like how you round up your month, I think it is a nice way to reflect on all the good points the month has brought you. And I completely agree, nothing beats an actual book… but I do like have an unlimited library at my finger tips with my Amazon Tablet & Kindle App. ^_^
Thank you! I always appreciate the lovely comments on these posts and they’re my favourite to write!
