The Not Quite 25 Before 25 One Year Update

9 August 2012 Leave a Comment

Hi!
Just over a year ago, a little after my 20th birthday I created a ‘not quite 25 before 25’ list. I’d seen a similar thing on a few blogs and I thought it would be nice to set myself I few little goals and things I’d like to do over the course of five years, I couldn’t think of 25 things though hence the not quite 25 bit, I have 19 things on my list.
Well a year has now passed so I thought I would do a little update with my progress, I have manged to complete a couple of them and made a start on other one’s so I am really pleased with what I’ve done in the first year of the list.

  1. (Photo 1) I stopped biting my nails which means I can now paint my nails very pretty colours. This was quite a big deal for me as I had bitten my nails for as long as I could remember, I completely stopped around December/January time. I may do a post in the near future on how I stopped biting my nails and grew them.
  2. (Photo’s 2 and 3) One of my goals was to go on more mini breaks and I have made a start on it by going to Liverpool twice. These photo’s are from when we went last August (actually I’m going to Liverpool again soon!) and we even managed to write our names on the Cavern wall, for anyone who has been to the Cavern you will know it is covered in names!
  3. (Photo’s 4 and 5) Another goal was to see Paul McCartney live again, having seen him for the first time in Glasgow in 2010 I knew I had to see him at least once more. I really didn’t think I would have completed this goal so soon but Josh very kindly bought me tickets to see him in Liverpool at Christmas and it was so amazing!
  4. As a Journalism and English student one of my goals was to see a piece of my work published, I write for several websites so my work is already published online but I wanted a hard copy, something in print. I achieved this in May when I discovered an article I had wrote about a fashion student had made into a university magazine which is sent out to prospective students and the parents of first year students. I felt quite proud and even more so I was invited to the Graduate Fashion Show because of the article.
  5. I also made a start on the goal of going on more dates with Josh, this December we will have been together 5 years so I feel it’s important to make an effort sometimes and go on little dates when we have the money.
  6. Finally I made a start on learning to cook/bake at least 10 homemade dishes by cooking Shepards Pie and baking Peanut Butter Energy Bites.
