Happy List: April 2021

4 May 2021 Comments : 6

This year is a weird one, the months individually seem to last a long time but the year as a whole has gone so fast! Does that even make sense? April felt like a nice month, it’s been so nice to see some normality returning and I really hope this is it now, that life can get back to normal. No more lockdowns.

While things have been opening back up there’s still some things I haven’t had chance to do. I haven’t been shopping yet as I wanted to give it a few weeks for the queues to settle down as I just don’t have the patience for that. I also haven’t had a meal out yet, I feel the cold really easily and all the nice days we’ve had I’ve been at work anyway. I absolutely cannot wait for pubs and restaurants to open up indoors this month because going out for a meal is something I’ve really missed! We did make it to a beer garden a couple of times though in April and it was so nice to do something other than going to work or sitting at home.

As I said, April just felt like a good month, so here’s what I got up to:

1. My wedding blog finally went self hosted! I can’t believe it. I thought it would be a little while before I could take the plunge and go self hosted with that blog too but I decided to just go for it and I’m beyond happy that I did. It’s new design looks amazing too!

2. I bought some new bits for our garden as we’re planning on relaying our patio over the next couple of months so it nice and even with no weeds poking through. We have an outdoor sofa stored away in our garage so I’ve bought some bits and pieces to make a like tropical paradise area.

3. We had our first BBQ of 2021. We had so many BBQ’s in the first lockdown when we were blessed with all that good weather. I’m hoping we get some more warm days soon because I do love a good BBQ.

4. I had a week off work and in typical style for me I was ill. Never work with kids if you actually want to be healthy! Anyway it was just a chest infection so I actually didn’t feel too ill and it was nice to just have a break from work too.

5. We spent some time in a couple of beer gardens and boy did it feel good to do something normal and something different to sitting at home or going out to work! I can’t wait for pubs and restaurants to open up inside now, there’s so many local restaurants that I’m dying to try out.

6. I’ve been keeping up with my Couch to 5K so decided to get myself a pair of Disney Lilo and Stitch leggings to work out in. They certainly brighten up my runs. I’m really happy that I’ve been sticking to it though and I can’t wait to start trying to improve on my times.

So that was April, all round a pretty good month. I think May is going to be even better, I can’t wait to do a bit of shopping, go out for a meal and hopefully we’ll get some nice warm weather too!

How was April for you? Let me know in the comments.
