Autumn Traditions

Autumn goes hand in hand with many comforting things which is why it's my favourite season. You guys know by now how much I love autumn so I figured I'd do a little round-up of my autumn traditions.

autumn traditions

I love burning candles all year round but autumn scents are my favourite! The fresh scents are exchanged for warming, spicy fragrances and I love it!

The big cosy blankets come out of storage. I love nothing more on a cold evening than wrapping up in a super soft blanket on the sofa.

Spooky books

One of my favourite things to do on an evening is read a good scary book, autumn is the absolute perfect time for this. I can highly recommend, The House Beneath the Oak Trees, The Chalk Man and The Outsider for something spooky to read this season.

Spooky films

Horror films are my favourite and I watch them all year round but I get extra excited about turning the lights off and finding a good scary film in autumn. I'm already on the look out for good films to watch over Halloween.

Fairy lights

There's nothing more comforting than the glow of fairy lights as the evenings start to get darker earlier.

Hot chocolate

I love finishing off an evening with a hot chocolate and marshmallows and the colder evenings definitely call for it!

Pumpkin Carving

How can you not at Halloween? Josh is usually in charge of this as he's far more creative than me. I'm excited to see what designs he does this year!

Halloween Decorations

This is a new one this year but we've somehow managed to amass quite a collection of Halloween candle holders over the last month as well as some pumpkin lights and a Halloween pineapple.

Hearty food

I love my slow cooker and have featured a couple of slow cooker recipes on here before. I love autumn cooking though from stews, to parkin to anything with ginger in it!
