My 21st Birthday - Part 1

I won't ramble on for too long as this is going to be a very picture heavy post (so I hope you stick with it!). On the 28th July it was my 21st birthday and I can honestly say it was one of the best days of my life, everyone made the day so special and it's something I shall always remember, I feel incredibly lucky to have such amazing family and friends that made my birthday so amazing.

I wasn't really allowed to open any presents until the night when we went out for a meal, so I just opened a couple from Josh and a couple from my mum during the day. At night me, Josh, my Dad and stepmum, my Mum and her friend, Josh's parents and my stepsister and niece went to a Chinese Buffet which was also a surprise for me, I knew we were going for a meal but I didn't know where. The food was lovely as was the restaurant and I had some big balloons in the centre of the table. My Dad had also bought a photo from and filled it with photo's of me as a kid and put it on the the table which was quite embarrassing but good too. After our food they brought out a cake with a huge sparkler on it, the cake had a photo of me on it, I think it's my first school photo so I will have been about five. When we got home my Dad said  he'd bought a sky lantern each for me and Josh so we let those off which was really nice. It was such an amazing day and night which was filled with some lovely surprises.

Happy List #67

This week's Happy List is going to be more of an update again like last week's was, this is because I haven't done anything that was worthy of taking a photo of for most of the week except Thursday so there's quite a few photo's for that day.
Also I'm posting this week's Happy List a day early as it's my 21st birthday tomorrow so obviously I won't be blogging then. I could not be anymore excited for my birthday, I feel so lucky to have amazing family and friends that are going to make it a really special day.
Before I get onto this week's photo's I'd also like to say thankyou to everyone that commented on last week's post regarding my broken toe, although it's still painful at times it's started to heal really well this week and I can almost walk normally now!

Bahama Breeze Yankee Candles

Josh and I went out yesterday as a little birthday treat from my stepdad (just a little side note I have a complicated family, my mum and stepdad aren't together anymore but we're still close incase anyone was wondering why there was no mention of my mum!). He bought me the laptop in the final photo for my birthday, I was so shocked when we walked into Curry's and he told me just to pick one, I feel so grateful to have received such an amazing present! It's weird having a normal sized laptop though because my other one was just a small notebook, I love this new one though!

I'm in the local paper for my birthday! Yep that's me as a little sprog (aged 3) in Tenerife wearing a sombrero. My Dad and stepmum put the photo in for me.

So that pretty much sums this week up, I also went to see my niece for the first time when I came home from university on Sunday, she is so adorable, I love her to pieces! I do have a photo of me holding her but I won't be putting it on my blog as my stepsister hasn't put any photo's of her online so I don't think it would be fair to.

Hope you enjoyed this week's post (sorry it's not in the usual happy list format) I'm off to continue been ridiculously excited for my birthday now!

Happy List #66

Unfortunately this week's Happy List is not coming to you in it's traditional form due to the fact I really don't have any photo's. Now I do have a very good reason for this and those of you who follow me on Twitter may already know this, but last Sunday I broke my little toe so I really haven't done anything this week due to pain and an inability to walk correctly. I can be a bit of a wuss but I have to say that something so small should not hurt as much as it does. Most of my week was spent laid down with my foot up watching daytime TV wearing Josh pj's and trust me no one wants to see photo's of that! However Josh very kindly went shoe shopping for me (without me asking him I should point out, so well done to him) to see if he could find me some shoes that would fit on my foot whilst my toe was bandaged and that I would be able to walk sort of alright in. He came back with some silky ballet pumps and boy did he do good because at this point I hadn't been outside for four days so it was like a new lease of life when I went out in my new shoes! I then proceeded to buy two more pairs, another plain black pair and one pale pink pair to go with my birthday dress as now my birthday is only a week away and it's very unlikely I'll be wearing my lovely new wedges out for my birthday meal so the pumps will have to do.
Another reason why there aren't many photo's is because Josh and I have been packing our room up as we're heading back home to Yorkshire until September, so when I haven't been watching TV I've been hobbling around packing up boxes and my suitcase, as we're living in the same place next year we can keep our boxed up stuff here which isn't too bad. So tomorrow morning my Dad is coming to pick us up and I'll be waving goodbye to Coventry for around nine weeks.
So basically I didn't want to miss out on doing this post despite the fact I don't really have anything to show you, so I will put the few photo's I have on here even though they're mainly of food!

Banana's on toast (please tell me I'm not the only one the likes this?!) / Tuna melt panini / Bulmers / McDonalds / New shoes - currently the only thing I can walk in aside from slippers / Packing up boxes

So that's that, again I'm sorry I couldn't do a normal Happy List I will try harder for next week but it still may not be up to it's normal standard as I'm doing ridiculously boring things like having my hair cut and my eyebrows waxed in preperation for my birthday next Saturday and I'll still be hobbling round with a broken toe!

Second Year in Coventry - Part 2

On Tuesday I posted the first half to this post, which you can look at here. I'm currently taking a little break from cleaning the room and packing stuff away to do this post as there's only a couple of days until I'm heading back to Yorkshire. These photo's are from January - July so some of the photo's are different sizes because during this time Josh got a new camera and the photo's are a slightly different size to the one's from the old camera.

My first time at a vintage fair, picking out some Levi's.

Playing in the snow at night.

Smokey the cat visited Waterstone's in Coventry. She's holds the Guiness World Record for the loudest purr.

A baked an amazing cake for Josh's 23rd birthday.

Pretty flowers in the sunshine.

The cutest little gosling in a park near to us.

Work experience at Coventry Mysteries Festival.

Josh and I in Leamington Spa.

Second Year in Coventry - Part 1

Last year I did two posts of my favourite photo's from my first year of living in Coventry (for university) and I posted them just before I went back home for the summer. Well the time has come again where Josh and I are packing up our little room ready to head back to Yorkshire on Sunday so I thought I'd do two little posts with my favourite photo's from my second year in Coventry as it's something really nice for me to look back on. Just like last year I had to really narrow down my selection as I had a lot of photo's so I've picked one's that make me feel happy or remind me of going to certain places. As I've done them in chronological order these are the older photo's (September - January).
Hope you enjoy them!

Cocktails at Old Orlean's - we loved going to this restaurant but this was the last time we went as it closed down shortly after.

Josh's excellent pumpkin carving with a traditional one and a Beatles Love one!

I think this photo is so pretty (I can't take credit for it though as Josh takes all the photo's) these flowers were at Packwood House in Solihull

This has to be one of my favourite photo's ever as it's really natural the smiling wasn't for the camera as I didn't know the photo was been taken. It's of me and Josh's Grandad at  Packwood House.

This sleepy little guy came to visit Coventry one weekend close to christmas, he's so cute.

Again another one of Josh's beautiful photograph's. I love how the branches look in the sunlight, this was taken by the canal in Coventry.

Me in my panda hat! This was such a sunny day but really cold and I love day's like that in winter. Again this was by the canal in Coventry.

This was the first time we went to the War Memorial Park, we'd never known it was so close to us and it's a really nice park.

Part two will be on my blog on Thursday.

Happy List #65

I've got a fair few things to show you this week as my dress (that I mentioned in last weeks post) turned up and it's perfect and then Josh and I ended up going on an impromptu afternoon out in Leamington Spa so I hope you don't get too bored of the all the photo's and that you enjoy this week's Happy List!

Saturday 7th July 2012

This is the dress I bought for Josh parent's vow renewal and I love it, I really like how it all drapes at the front and it's a lovely pale pink/nude colour. It's quite possibly one of the most ladylike items I own though and I feel quite grown up in it!
