STYLE: Everything was rosey

Well the title should be everything was rose gold but it doesn't sound as good! And in fact it's one thing not everything but we'll ignore the small details considering the title comes from this song!

I thought I'd do a post on what I got up to this weekend as there are too many photo's to include everything on the next happy list. I decided to treat myself to celebrate the end of my exams and the fact I will have finished my second year of university this week (I can't believe it, this year has gone so fast). There are quite a few photo's so please don't get too bored!

On Saturday I want to a vintage fair, just like the one I blogged about here and picked up another pair of Levi shorts that I will be doing a little DIY project on soon, I wasn't overly impressed with the vintage fair this time and only spent around 10 minutes looking round, but I did only go for the shorts and I got what I wanted so it wasn't too bad. There was an amazing cupcake stall at the fair which sold so many lovely looking cupcakes but I settled on a coffee one which was delicious.

What I wore to the vintage fair (vest H&M, shorts vintage Levi's, necklace Scarlett Hearts, lipstick Topshop Oh La La)
Cupcake stall at the vintage fair
 Coffee cupcake
 Coke in a glass bottle
Nails Barry M Blueberry Icecream and Models Own Indian Ocean, it doesn't photograph well but it looks stunning in real life!
New Levi shorts from the vintage fair

At night Josh and I went out for a meal to an Indian restaurant, Indian food is my favourite and it was nice to go out as we can't afford to do it too often.

What I wore at night (dress Primark, lipstick Topshop Brighton Rock)

On Sunday I decided to do a little bit of shopping, I've been really good at saving lots of money which left me with spare cash to treat myself whilst the rest went into the savings account (if anyone is interested I did do a blog post on how I save and split my money between different things here). I didn't buy loads but I love what I got.

Top from Primark £6 - very impressed with the little collar tips!
I adore this tshirt dress from Primark I don't own anything this colour but I really like it. It's just like the grey one I bought from Primark and they're so comfy, this was £3 in the sale which I didn't realise until I went to pay for it so it made it even better!
And the inspiration for the post title is this rose gold collar from H&M £7.99 I love it and I think it will look lovely with the dress I have for my 21st birthday (it's not for another two months but I like to plan!)

So that's what I got up to this weekend it was so nice to go out and do things and treat myself rather than worry about exams! Sorry it's a bit of a long post!

Happy List #58

I had my last exam yesterday and I only have two days left at uni next week so I should be able to blog more again now. To make up for last weeks poor effort on the photo front there's quite a few photo's this week as I've been enjoying the lovely weather!

Saturday 19th May 2012

A treat for after my exam!

Also... I only have two exams and I did the first one today, I really hope I've at least passed because it was such it's such a difficult module

Sunday 20th May 2012

 Little treat from Josh

Also... Had a day of revising before starting again tomorrow for my final exam. I don't know quite how I stumbled across it but I ended up finding some crazy German guy on Youtube singing and dancing and I was crying with laughter. His name is DJ Rotterdam, go look!

Mint Aero and Skittles milkshakes

Tuesday 22nd May 2012

An article of mine published in a university magazine that goes out to prospective students / Mint icecreams

Also... The weather finally warmed up here so I bought some mint icecreams. Also I went into uni and found out an article I wrote had been published, I was really pleased as the lecturer originally lost this article when I sent it him then told me lots of people had written fashion based articles anyway so for mine to be the only one that made it in made me really proud!

Wednesday 23rd May 2012

Finally finished this book, it was really good but left lots of questions unanswered which was annoying

Also... Spent some time in the sun then went to the pub for a nice cold summer fruits cider

Thursday 24th May 2012

Lots of cute little cygnet's and a fluffy little gosling, they were all so cute. Oh and a little squirrel too

Friday 25th May 2012

Came home from my last exam to this lovely bunch of lillies from Josh

Also... It was my last exam today, I'm so relieved they're over. Josh showed me a photo Ricky Gervais posted on Twitter, one word amazing, check it out!

SAVING MONEY: Survey Sites

It's been a little while since I did one of these post but this week I want to talk about survey sites.
First off I'm signed up to two different survey sites, one pays out cash via bank transfer the other pays out in vouchers (there's a variety to choose from and you pick where you want the voucher for).

The survey site which pays out in cash is called www.panelbase.net and I've been signed up to this for couple of years now and I have to say the payouts aren't that great, you don't get many surveys sent out and in my experience you don't qualify for many either. That been said I have had one pay out from this site of £11 (you can redeem money once you hit £10) but it takes a long time to build up the money. So a get rich quick scheme this isn't!

The survey site which pays out in vouchers is called www.valuedopinions.co.uk and personally I think this is a much better site, I had a few little hiccups with this when I first started as it wouldn't let me do any surveys but once I emailed them this quickly got sorted. You get a good amount of surveys and in my experience you qualify for most of them and the payout is pretty good (most of them I've had pay around £1). The only drawback for me is that I find the surveys quite long and boring, but hey I'm not going to complain because I'm getting something out of it. Again you have to reach £10 before you can chose a voucher you want to redeem but it really doesn't take long to reach that amount. I've been signed up since February and redeemed my first voucher last night, I would have been on around £20 had I not had the problems I had when I first signed up though so you can see it build up fast.
The voucher options range from things like Amazon, Boots and Topshop which I think is great, I chose a Boots one as I'm getting ready for some essentials from there so the voucher will really help out. It can take a little while to get paid once you've completed the survey as there's closing dates etc but that isn't anything problematic.
The only advice I would give is that you should do your research before signing up to survey sites as some won't be legitimate like these two. The Martin Lewis website has some information on legitimate survey sites so it might be worth having a quick look on there.
You're not going to make loads doing surveys but it's always nice to get little rewards so I personally think it is worth signing up to such sites.
If anyone is interested I have some invites I can send to you for the Valued Opinions site, all you have to do is leave your email on here then I will send you an invite, you will receive an email from Valued Opinions, just click the link and away you go!
Do you have any other good survey sites that you can reccomend? Let me know!

Happy List #57

I'm afraid this week's photo's aren't the most exciting considering pretty much everyday has consisted of waking up, having breakfast and revising in oversized lounge trousers and one of Josh's hoodies and trust me no one wants to see photo's of that! Anyway I've just come back from an exam so I wasn't going to blog today but I can't really miss out on doing the happy list, so here it is...

I won't actually get to see her though until the end of July when I go back home so my dad is keeping me updated with lots of lovely photo's. I haven't put one on here as I didn't feel it was right just yet as she does have a few tubes in her in case she forgets to breath. I cannot wait to see her though!

Things To Look Forwards To!

My blog posts probably won't be that regular over the next month as I have a couple of exams and the start of another module coming up soon so I'm revising than I'll be doing my work for the module. I just thought I'd share with you a little list of things that I'm looking forwards to after my exams and when uni has finished for summer so I can keep myself motivated through revision.

  1. When uni is over I've got a little DIY project planned - I'll probably do a post on it when it's done but it involves a pair of shorts, some pink dye and some studs.
  2. Sun bathing and picnics in the park (if it ever stops raining)
  3. Days out in the sun
  4. Going for a meal to an Indian on 26th with Josh to celebrate the end of our exams
  5. Going to a vintage fair on the same day
  6. A weeks work experience over summer that I'm really looking forwards to
  7. My 21st birthday is at the end of July and I cannot explain how excited I am for it. My parents have planned a meal for it and even though they're not together I like that they've planned something jointly so that should be really good as there will be about 10 people going to that
  8. Going to Liverpool for a couple of days in August. It's no secret that I adore Liverpool (see here, here and here for evidence!) and we've been for a few days away there for the past couple of years. I'm a huge Beatles fan and I never get bored of going to Liverpool so I'm really excited to be having a little break there again
The dress I'll be wearing for my 21st / Can't wait to be back here having a drink in Liverpool / The last vintage fair I went to (post here) / Sunbathing / Picnics

What things are you looking forwards to over summer? What happy things keep you going through exams and revision? Let me know!
