BEAUTY: Body Shop Body Butter Duo

Body Shop Body Butter Duo is a new concept in which half of the tub is filled with a light moisturising lotion whilst the other side has the much loved body butter in it. There are four types available, Sweet Pea, Vanilla, Floral Acai and Macadamia. My mum kindly bought me the Macadamia one so here’s my review for that particular scent.

What Body Shop say

This twin pot contains two types of moisture: a light cream for where skin needs less hydration and a rich cream for drier areas like elbows and knees. It has a subtle nutty scent.

  • Provides 24-hour hydration
  • Leaves skin feeling soft all over
  • Subtle nutty scent
What I think

Ok so the Body Shop hasn’t given much information but what else is to be said it’s pretty self explanatory. As soon as I saw this I knew it would be perfect for me. I’m already a massive fan of Body Shop body butters and I have a huge collection of them so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed with this. As someone who has fairly dry skin I love nothing more than slapping body butter on but I do think that they can be a bit too thick and greasy if you’re in a rush to get dressed.
This is the perfect product for me as I love to shower on a night and don’t mind using a thick body butter when I’m only going to be wearing pyjama’s however I hate the idea of getting dressed wearing such a thick product so that’s where the lighter lotion comes in, it’s perfect for those morning showers!
The lighter lotion has a really nice silky feel and still provides a really good level of moisturisation despite its thinner consistency. This side is slightly more fragrant than the other side but this isn’t a bad thing! It still smells extremely nice.
The body butter is just as good as all the other Body Shop body butters, I tend to favour the thicker ones made for very dry skin and I would say that this falls into the category of suitable for dry skin as it’s not quite as thick feeling as some of the body butters such as the mango one (for very dry skin). This side has a more suitable fragrance that’s slightly nutty as Body Shop describe.
This scent was my personal favourite out of all the scents available as I love anything along the lines of coconut/shea/cocoa and this falls into that category, it has a very light smell unlike Sweet Pea and Floral Acai which I personally found a little too sweet and overpowering. The vanilla one was nice although not that strong (plus I’m not a big fan of vanilla scents).
So rather than using the light lotion all over and the butter in dry areas I’ll be using the butter on a night and the lotion in the morning as this is what is best for me.
I’d definitely recommend this duo body butter, at the moment they’re at the special introductory price of £10 after they will be £12.50, the same price as all the other body butters. I will definitely be repurchasing this product as I think its well worth the money especially as Body Shop products last so long.
